And several of those even seem to get more traffic than the entire classic gaming forum here at DP. And the modern gaming section is definitely more active on a routine basis than that here at DP.

The one area where its specialization remains is the main site itself. You won't find a NES category for instance in the rarity guides, perhaps something that could be changed if some dedicated members here got together with Albert and such over at AA and tried to expand things if he was amicable to the idea.

I for one would love to see a lot of the scanned material here at DP not be lost now that Joe and NZ17 both refuse to even acknowledge ownership of this place let alone actually visit and do something for a change.

And as seen by this thread, an awful lot of us already are active over there and likely will become more active as DP finally fades from the collecting scene.
I think Atari Age is the best "all classic gaming" forum out there right now, particularly that hasn't been collectarded.

I'm really not on any other forums besides one that's even more dead than here, I'll have to sign up elsewhere if this place dies out completely.

I'm on Atari Age (Kid Chameleon), but for some reason, I just don't seem to find very many of the threads interesting. Somebody will make a thread about something, and it will get a few comments, but the discussions never seem to get very deep.

I don't know.... maybe I'm being a bit too harsh, but when I used to be able to browse Atari Age while at work (it's blocked now), I just never found too many interesting discussions. Of course, I'm mainly interested in video gaming stuff that happened from about 89 to 96, so maybe there are amazing discussions about stuff from the Atari / Intellivision / Colecovision days, but I'm not really into that era too much. My favorite era is early 16-bit to early PS1 /N64.
A large part of that is there's almost no interesting finds now. No amazing finds at great prices, no new prototypes turning up, or new information on old games, etc. There's really not much to talk about. If you can find old sports games at a thrift store or yard sale it's actually something to take note of, it's all modern junk that turns up.

People would just turn up to look over the finds, then post some replies to other topics. It's finds that keep game forums alive, besides actual detailed articles and reviews like the ones regularly posted at Sega-16.

I've pretty much moved to RF Generation I'm understatement there as well. To be honest it feels the most like DP to me with the way the forum is set up. Also they have a really nice game database with literally every system and game in it for keeping track of your collection.

I spend time on DP, gamefaqs, Atariage, and Racketboy (username ave1). I may try out that RFgeneration forum

One that I discovered recently is Retrocollect.com.

Chances are if you see a Daria at any classic gaming site it's me. I lurk at a lot of forums. Most active on NintendoAge these days though.

Also @DariaPlays on Twitter and YouTube.com/DariaPlaysToo

It was a good run, not as active here as I was in the early 2000s. It was a lot of fun in those days. People move on and lose interest though, such is life.

I do a 2600 podcast, which is currently on semi-hiatus as I get some shit done around the house. http://2600gamebygamepodcast.blogspot.com/

I am fergojisan on the Atari.io forums, and ferghead on AtariAge.

I've always wondered - how does one buy a website? This thing can't bring in much / any revenue and it would be sad to see it vanish to nothing.

Honestly, reading the random crap posts here helped me get through the misery of my teenage years (tiny violin).

Other than this and an another forum that includes a lot of old Atlus forum members before it was shut down, I don't go to any other forum. Not too big on some forums that just have too many people, so you don't really know anybody, just everyone trying to get their word in. Then other forums like Castlevania Dungeon and Chapel of Resonance I was banned somewhere before Castlevania died out. I'm sure the forums are no longer relevant now that the series is dead though, unless they're making up threads about erotic violence and pachinko machines. I'm also on Youtube and have a Gamefaqs account.

I watched your video and now I can finally put a face to your user ID. And this after all them years. The video was very good, I liked the comparison to the SuperGrfx. Actually, I've never seen any footage of the SuperGrafx, so it was really nice to see a comparison of this great game on both systems.

Yeah, despite Final Fantasy becoming garbage as of late, still keeping it as a username. Square Enix is not only ruining their franchises, they're ruining my username.

    Thanks!

It was an idea I had when I worked with J2 Games/Video Game Trader. I was going to put out more but life/other interests got in the way like community theater (and lost the beard), having a child, etc.

Needless to say, now with a new wife and large family, I don't work on Youtube much anymore.

I have the same username on AtariAge, NintendoAge, and RFGeneration. Doubt I have more than 6 posts on all three of those combined.

I'm Kid Fenris wherever I go: HG101, Lost Levels, Something Awful, and a bunch of other forums that I can't remember now. I think I'm the only one dumb enough to use this name.

I haven't been active in a long time; I sold a good portion of my collection to fund my 400hp WRX build

It would be a sad day to see this place go.
