Default Coleco ADAM Computer Box - free, pickup only

Giving away a Coleco ADAM computer box, its the outer/top box only. The system originally came in styrafoam covered by a cardboard box, and this is the top.
It is in really nice condition, Ive had it hanging on the wall for a few years now. It is really big and I do not want to ship it. Dont want to throw it away either, so if anybody in the RI/Mass/CT area wants to pick it up, send me a pm.

I remember a collector in my area having the actual computer and trying to give it away for free, I'm not sure if he was able to or if he junked it. I know he had lots of trouble to get rid of it.

When I was collecting coleco stuff, I had 3 cib ADAM computers. One of them I got for free, the seller wanted 170$ for it, and I offered him half that, then he said I could have it for free... which was unexpected. I went to pick it up and it was sitting on the curb.

Yeah these ADAM computers are not fantastic. You would be lucky to find even 3 playable games for it. Plus you need the printer for the computer because that is the power supply. So yeah, its a huge system that has a very small library of weak games.

Noooo! Maybe toss it under the couch where it won't take up any room? A lifetime later the archeology treasure to be discovered by whoever inherits your home.

Honestly I would love to.. but its just too big.
Everything in my basement is slowly being consumed by mold, and I have 3 large dogs who would literally eat this if given the chance. Its just not safe outside of the game room.
I probably wont burn it, but eventually its gotta go somewhere.

    Whew!

Now that I think about it, there were a few game consoles back in the day that attempted a computer expansion (only prototypes) to compete with the new emerging home computer market. The Coleco Adam actually made it into production though could not compete with the Commodore, that Coleco expansion hardware a rare piece of gaming history!

Yeah the Commodore is an amazing system. Its no surprise that it did so well. Also, the ColecoAdam had a retail price of something like 700-800$, where the Commodore was much much cheaper.
