I am not sure how to describe this issue, but I attached a picture. It seems like the CRT spends most of its time aimed at the middle of the screen, but is still drawing a part of the picture. My only thought to repair is to replace the capacitors, but I am not positive if that's the issue or not. This was working fine 6 months ago and just noticed this issue the other day.

    Any tips? Thanks.

    according to this:
    https://forums.atariage.com/topic/11...problems-pics/

it looks like a cap replacement fixed it, also would be a good time to do the audio mod so it doesn't hum so much too.
later on down the line (page 2) it looks like some one had to replaced a op amp too, both shouldnt be too hard i imagine.

i do remember these being poorly soldered to begin with so i'd probably start out checking for bad joints since its free

This was the problem with the one I owned. Many years ago I bought a console with a bunch of games, basically all boxed including the console itself, from a local classified ad. I was told it was all fully working and had no problems, but when I got home and started playing it the console died within an hour of use. I ended up selling it all to another local collector who eventually got it repaired from a TV repair shop, it apparently had numerous bad solder joints that needed to be resoldered. I wish I would have kept it as it's a really neat console, it's just at the time I didn't know where I could get it repaired or how much the repairs would cost, plus I expected the console would be fragile and finicky based on that experience, and I honestly didn't have enough space to keep/store the system. Just a slight regret I have, one of many collecting wise.

I can happily report that a full capacitor replacement from a kit seems to have fixed the problem. Simple in principle but fairly annoying in execution.

Thanks a lot for that link! I went ahead and ordered a cap kit for now. And I guess I will do the audio mod because mine does buzz (never bothered me too much tho)
