    Default Innovative/groundbreaking Games?

Hi all I am looking for your thoughts on innovative/groundbreaking games that pushed hardware/software forward. Or just a game that might be really unique. Staying away from PC only games I'll give a few examples of what I'm looking for:

Legend of Zelda NES - first battery on cart allowing for saves also first 'open world game'
Adventure 2600 - first Easter egg
Street fighter II SNES - allowed you to select a unique fighter
Breakout 2600-Jobs and Wiz worked on that game!
Mario 64 - one of the best 3D games moved public in that direction.

Just some examples but I want to hear what you think to give me some ideas. Also please fact check me!

    Thanks

Rarely are the really "first" games ones you've heard of.
Even just on the Famicom, there were at least two games which predate the US Zelda release. There was a Shogi game which predates it by three months. And an action RPG called Future Myth Jarvas by Taito released the preceding month.
Not sure what you mean by "unique fighter" but there were surely many games with a character select before that.

Thank you for posting this list as I did not see it. Still going through the list as it has a ton of information but looks interesting and good info. Thank you again.

No problem, it's quite old and I've just added to it as I play more games over several years. Should probably clean it up a bit
