Jvc xeye what mod is this

Hi guys, there's a jvc xeye for sale, and I was wondering what is the
Wire hanging out of the system.

I've never seen that before.
its closest to the power so maybe some one added an external power connector for some power supply they had?
or maybe they wanted to remotely change the region while never getting up from the couch?

I think if you open it up and actually read the port for which it is connected to you could find that out yourself. I am sure there are schematics. It is not brain surgery but be careful
