    Default TI/99 Rarity Check...

Today I scored a TI/99 unit w/ 2 controllers, the a/c, and the Speech Synthesizer. No r/f though, grrr. I also got 9 carts with it. I only spent $5 on everything, so it wasn't that bad of a find. I'm curious if any of these are harder to find, if they are I would certainly get rid of them:

    Terminal Emulator II
    Tombstone City
    Personal Record Keeping
    Household Budget Management
    Car Wars
    Securities Analysis
    Hang Man
    Munch Man
    Music Maker

What are the harder to find games for this system anyway? And is anything for it worth much money? I've never really looked into to it since I haven't had one in years.

Sorry Hitman, all as common as dirt. The speech module is worth at least $5, though.

TI-99 is funny that way. Games are either VERY VERY common or very hard to find. I spent a lot of time researching this system for the new book, and it's got a rather interesting distribution of scarcities and pricing. Quite unlike any other system.

I'd love to find one.. my area has gone quite dry of any computer related vintage. I have come across a couple of working C64's in the garbage and theren lies the problem.. people to lazy to try and sell anything old. I mention old computers at flee markets and 9 out of 10 times I'll be handed a 386 or 486 chip, an old SB pro ISA board or other PC odds and ends like 5 1/4 floppy drives and 40meg hard discs.

The TI was my first computer, I love the thing to death. I have found 2, one of them is missing three keys, I spent $15.15 on that one, because it was the first one I had seen since 1984 (when I got rid of my original), and I wanted it SOOOOO bad. I went back to THE SAME thrift store the next week and found another one for $3.93. unfortunately, games are absolutely impossible to find, I haven't seen a game since the original set of 8 I bought when I got the first machine (for 50 cents each).

I find these things all the time. I've got 2 right now one boxed and around 30 carts. I've passed up a couple more systems just in the last few months cuz I have no use for them.

I got my TI-99/4A a few months ago for 18.00 and it came with 5 games and everything necessary to play.
