Default PS old-school compilations on PS2

Is there a list (or maybe someone here knows) which of the old-school compo disks for the PS (like Namco Museum, Arcade's Greatest Hits, etc) will or won't work on a PS2? I got Arcade Party Pak and half of the games didn't work -- the game didn't even load, it just crashed to a black screen.

    Edit:

Never mind, did some Googling and found this list on Sony's site for games that don't work:

    Arcade Party Pak
    Atari Collection 2
    Fighter Maker
    Final Fantasy Anthology
    Intl Track & Field
    Judge Dredd
    Monkey Hero
    MK Trilogy
    Tomba
Who Wants to be a Millionare?

    Why don't those games work?

I have Final Fantasy Anthology, and both FF6 and FF5 work. Odd that Sony would say it doesn't?????

The story with Final Fantasy Anthology is sometimes on the save screen for FF6, the text gets garbled. Doesn't hurt your save, just the screen looks weird.

Arcade Party Pack is like this, Smash TV, Klax, and Rampage work fine, 720, Toobiin', and Super Sprint will lock up your machine. I think it has something to do with emulating that arcade hardware Atari was using for those games (ditto for the Atari's greatest hits 2 disc.)

I haven't had any problem with any of the other retro comps (Namco 1-5, Konami, Williams 1 & 2, Intellivision, etc.) on the PS2.

I've found that "Paperboy" on Atari Coll. 2 doesn't work on PS2- all others on it work fine...

I just purchased party pack about a week ago and I can get Klax to work, but it crahses in the higher levels. Time to pull out the PS1.

Oh wait I am playing Animal Crossing. Klax will have to wait.

Anyone know the extent of trouble the PS2 has with Tomba!? I've been considering looking for that game (I played the demo a long time ago, and it was really fun).

Tomba crashes after you try to load your save game, if I recall.
