Default Sega Saturn vs. NES (for Bubble Bobble)

Hi, I've got a question about comparing Sega Saturn and NES consoles. I've never played console games, but plenty of PC games - mostly FPS. I've always really loved the old Japanese arcade game Bubble Bobble and see it on eBay for NES and Saturn. Can anyone tell me which will give me better graphics and game play for this game? I'm going to buy the console and cartridge just to play this game and want to get the best I can.

    Thanks,
    Bryn

I haven't played the Saturn version, but I can pretty safely assume that would give you the best experience graphics-wise, seeing as it's two generations beyond the NES. You might want to check the buying/selling forum here to get some good deals from some great people! Either way Bubble Bobble is a great game, so good luck getting whichever version you end up pursuing. Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Yea, the saturn version probably would be the best.
BUT you could save some coinage by getting the Master system version, which is superior to the NES version (like all ms games ), but probably inferior to the saturn version (which I too havent played or seen).

To my knowledge, the Saturn BB (Bubble Bobble Featuring Rainbow Islands), is a port of the arcade game. It also includes a port of the sequel, Rainbow Islands, and an enhanced version of RI called Rainbow Islands Enhanced. The only change there is in the graphics, though.

You can also get the same comp for the PlayStation, which is the version I have. Good fun indeed, as Bubble Bobble will never get old.

I have both, and the Saturn version is much better IMO. Never played the PS version, but I'd trust what Dire 51 said.

I've seen the NES version, played the Turbo Duo version, and tried a bit of the MegaDrive and Saturn versions.

Considering how different all of those systems are, the stretch in quality is marginal at best. A fun game however you slice it.

    EDIT:
    I edited the wrong post.

I'm hopelessly addicted to BB. Puzzle Bobble is also some great fun.

Master System Bubble Bobble has 200 levels, and several mini-bosses that aren't in the Arcade or NES versions.
