Default Anybody get a divorce over this hobby?

I would have to imagine that somebody has taken this hobby to the absolute extreme, and caused their wife to run away with the UPS man! he he...

Actually, Im hoping for the opposite...(cue dream sequence)

Girl: Oh, you have a nice apartment. *she looks around* Th-th-that sure is a lot of games. In fact, you're the only 23 year old Ive ever met that has this many games intended primarily for children.

    Me: Uh, well, I just...uh...fun...something to do...hobby..mumble..mumble...

    Girl: That's SOOOO cool!

Me: YES!! Why dont you pick something out of my library and we'll....."have a go." (smooth double entendre)

There was almost a break up when I said I was thinking of getting rid of it all.

my fiancee loves games, and as long as I supply her with ones she likes (RPGs, Tactics, anything Little Mermaid) she happily allows me my pleasures (Fighters, "Those really strange messed up games like Rez")

I'm on my fourth wife, and my fourteenth complete game library.

    It's a fair cop.

    I'm with Max...

I'll be married in 4 days, and she hates games. It's better that way though. I don't spend TOO much money on it (I'd be spending more if I was still into records/clubbing) and I try not to hog the TV. She understands that it's a hobby, and is cool with it. Also having a game-hater makes me take a break from time to time.

Just make sure you're trading the wives in and not stockpiling them - there's a limit to collecting.

My wife loves that I game. She's all about the game room, too. I make sure that it's stuff we can do together - Air Hockey, Fooseball, 2 player games (Sould Calibur - she ROCKS at that game as Ivy)....

I love that she does crafts. Stamping, clay, craft shows, you know.

We just love each other. Our anneversary is on the 28th.

And yes, I'll go shoot myself now for being so sappy.

Point: Gamer girls are out there, in fact, it's said that they outnumber guys now (I doubt this, but there was a survey just one month back)... It's not only POSSIBLE that your future wife will kick your ass in Dr. Mario, it's HIGHLY LIKELY.

i'm not married yet, though we do live together and are planning to

my gf doesn't have a problem with my hobby as long as people that walk into our appartment don't see the games and stuff at first sight

she also does play games, mainly thing like Super Mario Kart or Yoshi's Island *ggg*. what she loves is to watch me playing "cute" rpgs like Lufia and also some other genres (jump&run,action-adventures....). She also plays classic adventures like Day of The Tentacle (she knows every puzzle )

Exactly - 100% right on. If you're looking like a slob, it's a no go. Instead of shelves, get something with doors. Keep your most active titles handy, and the rest stored. Cable management is important.

That's right - cable management impresses the ladies.

It's just like dressing well - if you smell funny, don't work out, and you've got the 80's wardrobe going on, you've only got yourself to blame when you're ignored. You're not projecting "classic is cool" - you're projecting "I'm a pack rat and you should help me throw this crap out as soon as you can".

My girlfriend doesn't understand, but she can't really say anything because she collects cows and panda bears. She loves animals.

The only game she plays is "Push Push" on her cell phone.
