Default BEHOLD..the glory of the A'can FUNTECH!! (warning pics)

So... uh... what the heck is this?? What you see is what you get. No AC adapter, and no RF switch, but it's RF out jack is just an empty hole anyway. The 'docs' are totally in Korean (i'm told- I can't tell the diff from Japanese), so there is no help with the AC reqs there. Google seems stumped too, which is very strange. It doesn't seem to take SNES carts, though it definitely hints at a SNES pirate console.

It's not mine. It belongs to Nexwave from these forums. I think it's for sale, but you'll have to pm Nexwave about it. I'm just hosting the pics for him, so we can all bask in the glory of the Acan FUNTECH!!

I had one, I traded it away. It's Taiwanese, but from what Retro Rogue from ClassicGaming.com has informed me, getting any software for this little 'gem' is next to impossible. The cartridge connector is different from that of the SNES and I even looked inside it for a bit, the architecture -is- similar. It utilizes some of the same Motorolla chips and a Yamaha chip for sound if I recall right. It is its own system with probably only 5 or 6 games ever made for it.

Any clue what it needed for power? This one lacks it's AC adapter.

The specs for the power plug can be found in the manual. Look for an illustration of an AC adaptor and they will be there... think it was a 12.5V or some other crazy number.

Actually, the illustration may not be there, but it will definitely be there in the back of the booklet, hard to miss the only instance of 'english' in the form of numbers and the positive/negative polarity sign.

it's the console that keeps on giving! Now you just need to trade it to the one Asian out there who has a game for it!

It seems I got rid of this little guy before his rise to stardom.

I was going to hold onto it for awhile but recalled Bratwurst telling me about the hard to find games. I'd like to try some of the games out (if anyone can find them).

That language is NOT Korean... It's Chinese (I didn't see any Katakana, so it's almost certainly not Japanese).

I emailed the guy who had posted a picture of this in his auction listings and he made a small website with pictures of some games in action!

    Super A'can

Surprisingly, the games don't look half bad, with a tetris/puyo puyo clone, a fighting and action platform game. What is really neat is that with the colors available and one of the CPUs at 10 mhz, it could be considered the bastard child of a Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo.
