    Default VCS paddles not working

I turn the knob, and nothing happens (when playing). Every now and then (playing Breakout), I'll twist it and the paddle will move to the very far end of the screen, and then it'll be stuck there. I'll keep trying, and eventually it will move to the far end of the screen again. These worked fine last time I used them. I broke one overtwisting it, because I thought maybe I should keep twisting (oops).

Squirt some contact cleaner into the center of the POTS (potentiometer= dial) inside, and work it around. If that improves it, keep working it until it's smooooove. If not, you could have a continuity issue in one of your cables.
