Default Top 25 Atari Jaguar Games

"theaveng" has been shown the door to the Roundtable forums, but this list stands. The Jag may not have been a pure 64-bit system but it does have it's share of good games.

Vote for your favorites! If you have a favorite that isn't on the current list, tell us which one you'd kick out to make room for it.

If you need a refresher, we have a complete list of Jaguar titles right here: http://www.digitpress.com/lists/jaguar.pdf

What- no Cybermorph?! I may be in the minority on this but it was cool at the time and I still play it once and a while. Maybe its the bald headed woman that looks like Illia from Star Trek. C'mon what other game has a talking bald woman?

According to Rebellion Software, the Jaguar can push 10,000 16-bit polygons per second. How does that compare to PS1 or N64?

No way Braindead13 or Raiden make a Top anything list... I would replace them with Skyhammer and Protector:SE.

One other game that should definitely be on that list somewhere is Battlesphere. Knock Myst out for that one (Myst would only earn a title as the game ported to the most consoles).

Remove Fight for Life & FlipOut (yecch!); insert Battlemorph & Doom.

 you're kidding. HIGHLANDER? DRAGON? . drop both of those for hover strike CD and power drive rally. even blue lightning, sad as it was, beats both those two games easily... raiden should go up as well (even though you can't see what's being shot at you most of the time, lol)...

oh, and spell out wolfenstein, so people who've never played the system will know what to look for...=^P

Even though Dragon's Lair is on a million systems, I think it's one of the best titles the Jag has available. Plus, it was a more complete version than the others available at the time (Sega CD, etc.)

I'd drop Doom or Wolfenstein 3D to make room.
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.

Yep, I just played DL last night on the JagCd, great arcade port. My wife hadn't seen me playing it before and said 'Whoa, there's an old game I recognize', she spent no time in arcades as a youth, so that old saying that chicks like watching guys playing Dragon's Lair might be true

I'd drop Wolf3D for DL then. Doom is one of the best games for playability on the Jag, easy to get into and as much fun as the PC version minus the music.

I recently picked up a couple of Jag games so I thought I'd look this thread up to see what made the list. I wonder what would be longer, a Jag Top 25 list or a list of all "worthwhile" games for the system? The two I just got aren't on the list...the skiing game doesn't surprise me but I always thought Cannon Fodder was a cool game for the system. I had it once but haven't played it in 3 or 4 years and haven't played my new copy (it actually hasn't arrived yet) so I'm not sure if it deserves to really be on the list or not.

One thing I did notice...this "Top 25" actually has 27 titles on it so 2 should be removed.

aha, didn't even know about this thread. I really have no problems with the list as it stands. If I could make one change it would be to drop ZOOL 2, for Skiing and Snowboarding, but other than that the list is right on. I have issues with Primal RageCD because you have to use the keypad buttons during gameplay, but if a person could get use to that, I could see how Primal Rage is one of the best Jag games.

I second Skiing and Snowboarding, but I would remove Super Burnout (which I thought was horrible)

Oops, hit send too early...sorry about that. I was about to say that (as I said earlier) that I thought Cannon Fodder ought to be on the list and I also would like to nominate NBA Jam. Yeah, it's been on a million systems but I do really like the Jag version. It's certainly better than some of the games currently on the list.

I think you're right sadly I think with some goodwill you can make a list of 10 games worth you're hard earned bucks, but a top 25 is a joke and will only create discussion between fanboys. As yes there are a few great Jaguar games (Tempest 2k, Iron Soldier 1 and 2, Alien vs Predator, ehh Rayman, uhmm NBA Jam T.E and uhhm oh I can't remember any other game which was worth buying oh I forgot Battlesprere (gold).

But this is just my opinion about the system and yes I didn'mention games which can be fun, but are not that great as I think a toplist is only for games which are great, not games which can deliver some fun.

I would easily replace Dino Dudes and insert FFL or Flip Out.
Flip Out because it is a unique and addicting puzzler... and the women love it
