Default cream of the crop famicom/megadrive clone systems. check it.

I have come across this at a shop:

    http://darkwatcher.psxfanatics.com/c...modernmate.htm

I could swear it was called modern man but I appear to be wrong

It is boxed BUT does not work apparently and the shop owner was srill asking for quite a bit.

I will buy this for whoever is interested, but make me a worthwhile offer. The machine is not mint but I think it is very rare in terms of famicom clones and unique. Such a shame it doesn't work - may buy it and see if I can get it fixed.

I also came across another NES/Famicom clone (could not determine if it was 72 pin or not) - its also boxed comes with dozens of built in games and I think the gun too (which is pictured).
The thing about this one is that it looks identical to the real NES - not sure if it was the NASA system (i.e. the NES clone which is slightly smaller and sturdier).
I have come across quite a few NES clones but non which have built in games.

I will also consider picking this one up but as I cannot send it by airmail (it looks heaver than 2 kilos), please ask me for it if you are really interested and make a enticing proposition.

Anyway. appart from the car/famicom clone I once saw at a shop this is the wierdest bunch of clone systems I have ever seen.

Anyone else come acroos wierd crap like this?

I've seen wierd stuff, yes, and bought a couple not-run-of-the-mill items, but not crap. I think this qualifies, though it's a very interesting design.

I never suspected a Famicom and Mega Drive cart pair could snuggle up so close to each other

It is interesting, I give you that. I think that Famicom Phantasy Star pirate might be interesting.

Still, I'd take a Mega Jet over one of these any day (even though they can't play Famicom games). Virtually the same thing as what you've got here otherwise.

If I am not mistaken, I have seen a famicom clone which is similar to the megajet in theory but (and this is where I am not completetly certain) its cordless and can still be used with a T.V nontheless.

    Ed Oscuro,

I'm curious as to why you mentioned the Famicom Phantasy Star....it wasn't in the pic....did I miss something? I've been looking for one of those for a very long time. Got any leads?

is there such a thing? damn.. I think it will be extreemly hard to track down. any info on it at all?

I got hold of megadrive Tetris today. its cart only, and I will probably have it up for trade once I've played it a bit. I'm also on the lookout for megaman x3 for megadrive....

Oh, it must've been somebody else. Somebody around these forums mentioned it, and as usual I was in a not terribly nice mood and said something like "pirates are bad." Well, darn me, but I know if we kick this around for a while maybe he'll see it.

    Wait...

...thank goodness Google knew what I wanted (eventually).

    http://www.planetnintendo.com/thewar...20vs%20nes.txt

Darn them for not knowing to put underscores in file names. Anyhow, it's mentioned here, but only in brief:

    Phantasy Star
    SMS: Sega (1987)
    NES: A pirate version
COMMENT: There is an Asian pirate version of Phantasy Star released for
    the
Famicom titled Wai Xing Zhan Shi.
    Arr pirates.

Hmm, I didn't realize the NES Shinobi was made by Tengen...don't see how THAT one was legal at all, either. Would Sega have authorized it..?

Yep, I heard it's in Chinese. Sounds like the work of Chinese pirates, doesn't it? Anyhow, that's what I've heard and that's what it says so I'm going with option A, personally.

...Shinobi for NES? Not as bad as it could've been, but not terribly great either.

Yep, they did. That and After Burner, Fantasy Zone, Altered Beast (I think), and a few others I can't remember. I always thought it was downright bizarre that Sega would license several of their exclusives for a competitor's system, but it happened.

it happened on the TG-16/PCE also

There's also Fantasy Zone II, Space Harrier and Afterburner II for the Famicom. and Alien Syndrome on the NES as well.

And the Phantasy Star Famicom game you're talking about, isn't that Phantasy Star 4?

Possibly they figured they'd make some money off it at no expense, and these games wouldn't really constitute a reason to switch sides anyway :D

Well, at that time, neither the SMS or the Mark III were selling very well either.

Si, es algo fácil de encontrar y la verdad no soy muy amante de los piratas, pero si lo llego a encontrar, te aviso al instante.
    PD: ¿Empezaste a coleccionar?

la verdad es que nunca defini si era coleccionista, jugador, o vendedor. lo que mas me copa es encontrar cosas raras en todo sentido y cambiarlas por otras. Los piratas me encantan a mi
