Default Record speed on selling? And question

Okay, at the recent New England Classic Gaming trading show, I traded my 3DO system to Christan for a NES Top Loader. However, money problems compeled me to put it up for sale on EBay.

So I take a little time to think about what I want to say, look at the other auctions, decide that a starting bid price if $30 and a buy it now for $70 was fair, and go ahead and list it.

Hardly TEN MINUTES LATER I get a e-mail saying someone used the BIN!

Now I'm wondering if I sold it too cheap.

    Here's the auction:

My only concern is that even though the guy has paid and has better feedback then I do, he has a Unconfirmed PayPal address. How do I protect myself in this case to make sure that he can't claim he never got it?

nope, thats a good price considering you didn't have any pics.

Also I ship to unconfirmed address' all the time. If they are a new buyer, you may want to double check the address with them to be sure.

Yeah that's about the right price, without any AC adaptor and without a dogbone controller. If you had the more complete setup as well as a nice picture then you could have set a BIN of $100 or so and it would have sold as well.

If he has good feedback I wouldn't worry about the unconfirmed address.
I've shipped to around 50-60 customers with unconfirmed addresses (with good feedback) and have never had a problem .

I've had an unconfirmed address since I moved in March. I've tried to "confirm" my new address, but it keeps telling me that I've already registered my card. So, I continue using my "unconfirmed" address. I've had trouble with a couple sellers not wanting to send me stuff, but really, not EVERY unconfirmed address is a scam artist. Perhaps a little delivery confirmation (50 cents) would help ease your mind?

I've sold items on eBay in about 10 min before. Always amazes me.

As for unconfirmed addresses, half of the people I deal with have them on Paypal. If their money is good, that's all I care about. Just email them a disclaimer if you're worried.

There's a reason I don't have a adapater.....I don't have one! I've tried to get one at my local Funcoland, but they never have one. I finally just gave up.

Cool, I thought it was a fair price also, considering the unit does have some marks on it and I don't know how old the controllers are.

nearly every sealed game i sell goes away in that time, people are sooo afraid they don't get it in the end or have to pay more than the BIN, they risk paying too much just to be sure they get it, you COULD use this to overprice some things, but i won't do that

When I moved back home to Oklahoma I went through the hassle of changing my address on everything (again). To simplify everything, when I applied for credit cards this time around I used my PO Box address, so that if I ever move again, I don't have to change my address on everything.

So, my PayPal verified address is now my PO Box, which is inconvenient enough that I only check it once a week or so anyway. So if someone on eBay will only take verified, I have to use my PO Box. What's worse is when someone demands on shipping only to verified addresses (my PO Box) and wants delivery confirmation (which can't go to a PO Box). Catch 22.

The other complication that came out of all this is when I order goods off the internet is now my shipping address and billing address are two different addresses. Some places downright won't do it, others will do it but it often takes an extra week or so while they "verify" everything.

Sometimes "good ideas" end up being "pains in the ass" down the road.

A lot of the stuff I buy off of ebay is that quick. When I'm looking for certain things I'll keep the newly listed BIN items up on ebay and just refresh every few minutes during the day until what I'm looking for pops up. BING bought and paid for.

If you regularly sell on ebay and take paypal, you are bound to ship to a few unconfirmed addresses. I had a bad experience once. I thought using the insurance # would be enough for proof, but paypal needs the delivery confirmation with the confirmed address. So, they overturned the sale, they guy claimed to have had his credit card stolen.

Make sure you have insurance. If they claim they never got the package, you can still get your money back from the post office.

Well, when I asked him about the adress, he said he did'nt know what was up with that and would check. Now he told me that he got off the phone with them and probaly solved. Okay. I"ll still take insurance out on this to be sure, but yeah, I've had a bad experience with unconfirmed either and just due to this being so much I wanted to be sure of that.

And I only have ONE dogbone controller....I've had that made into my controller for my NES emulator, so ain't no way I'm parting with that!

Side note: I never DID notice the rolling lines some people say they have.

Doh, I forgot to list my Star Trek and Silent Hunter BOXED games. Oh well.
