    Again, I'll vote Zelda.

Though one of these two threads will surely be locked.
I only need 2 more NES games (US)!

Nothing is better then Mario. Well, Luigi. But the mario universe in general is awesome.

    Apples and oranges.

    You can't compare them fairly.

    No vote from me.

One cannot fairly compare the two, but one can have a preference, and my preference is MARIO.

    Are you kidding me?

Walk up to anyone on the street and ask them if they know super mario brothers.. and they will say YES.

    Try that with Zelda!

It's like comparing apples and oranges. Both defined a genre really. The vote will basically come down to what you like better: Action platformers to get your quick gaming fix or immersive adventure games for those who like epic quests.

I voted for Mario, by the way. But Zelda is up there on my list... WAY up there.

The only way that you can really compare one game to another is by how many hours you log with the game. Well that and how much pure joy you have from the game. I guess emotional attachment plays a part. Plus the time you spend thinking about the game. Things get complicated when your livelihood depends on the games doing well. It also sucks when some jackass ruins the game by talking to you forever on the phone about it. And what's with all the old ladies that love zelda? I don't get it! But it's not like the freaky ladies are zelda fans exclusively; there was this one ho that called up and said that she was married to mario! and this other lady cleaned her N64 everyday with an official cleaning kit, and called to make sure that her expansion pak wasn't going to cause any problems. And don't even get me started on Brad. Ugh.

I vote Super Mario Bros. If I never played that, I would have never played the Legend of Zelda.

Is there an "all of the above" option? I bet marmots taste good sauteed with butter and sliced radishes.

    I prefer SMB over Zelda.

However, I must say that I prefer Marmots over SMB.

    I prefer Zelda over radishes.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

I vote for Shigeru Miyamoto's best adventure/RPG game, Zelda.

I think there really is no comparison, its ZELDA ALL THE WAY BABY!
    SMB:run,jump,run,jump,run,jump.
the LEGEND OF ZELDA: sovle puzzles, interact with characters (merchants),use sword, bow and arrows ,bomb walls, search out new and hidden secret locations, run from avalanches, etc.
I still have my gold Zelda cartridge plus instruction booklet, so I might be slightly biased.
    Later Gamers!!!

I like Zelda better. Somehow the Mario games have never really clicked for me, the only ones I've liked have been Super Mario World and Mario Kart 64.

Zelda. More exploration, character development, thought-provoking puzzles, back-tracking for items, etc make Zelda a fuller and more rewarding challenge. Mario is good but all it really has is its action roots.
