    Default A few things...

Hi, after reading the new guide, I have a few points that could be useful to fill some gaps regarding some systems, if you are interested in the “import” market (I´m with Roloff on this one) . The market I´m talking about is Argentina.

Atari 2600 : We had two (perhaps more) brands of Atari 2600 carts . The legal one (I think) was called Edu Juegos . I have two carts from them: Super Futbol aka Championship Soccer and Super Tennis aka Tennis . Today, I opened Super Tennis and looked the chip inside...guess what I found:

    94R64B-3022
    C017480-07
    1983 ATARI
    8425 CJA
    Taiwan

They built VCS clones, too… . my guess is they got the permission to produce clones and games from Skydata...only licensee of Atari equipment here in Argentina.
The second brand name is Artkaris. I have a few ones, as stated below:

    - Carnival
    - Donkey Jong Jr.
    - Enduro
    - H.E.R.O.
    - Keystone Capers
    - Megaforce 1 - Star Master - River Raid - Laser Gate - Sea Quest - Gorf – Enduro – Donkey Kong ( 8 in 1 )
    - Megamania
    - Moon Patrol - Smurf : Rescue in Gargamel´s Castle - Championship Soccer - Tennis ( 4 in 1 )
    - Planet Patrol
    - Pressure Cooker
    - Real Sports Tennis - Real Sports Volleyball - Basketball – Boxing (4 in 1)
    - Snoopy & The Red Baron
    - Super Cobra

they got generic boxes with the same art in all of them.

Coleco Vision : Kenia Fueguina S.A. manufactured the Coleco under the CBS label and did the carts too.

Commodore 64: Drean manufactured all the Commodore 8 bit line ( 16, 64, 64C, 128)...well not the SX64 nor 64GS, under the label “Drean Commodore XX” beginning in 1984. As far as I know they didn´t release any cart but I could ask.

Pong Systems: I recently saw a Tele-match (without any number after the name) manufactured here.

CZ Spectrum: We got Spectrum clones too... the CZ Spectrum has two joysticks ports...this and others models were made by Czerweny.

    I hope it helps.

    Thanks, this helps a lot!

I'll point the editors to their respective sections. I'm sure they'll want to update the sections accordingly.

    Thanks again for the info!

The Pong system was called Telematch (no Tele-Match) without any number but on the box´ side says ´Model J5´. It was manufactured here by Panoramic on 1977. It has two knobs a la Odyssey (very similar) and five games (Pong variations) that you can select very much like the Channel F.

    Thanks very much Diego,

I'll add this information in the next DP guide. I had only 4 Brasilian Pong listed so far, and this one if the fifth. Thanks again!

er...the pong system is not brazilian...is argentinian, so it would be your first one from my country.

btw, all the information I gathered was referred to things made in Argentina .

    DOH!!!!

Sorry Diego, i wanted to wrote South-American Pong system and not Brazilian Pong System. But all the four i have in the database are from Brazil, so the one you're refering is the first one to be known that comes from Argentina.

Thanks again for pointing this out!

I´m from Argentina also, and recently saw this post. Now, i only say that, if you need any help when you write something about VG in Argentina, i have lots of cart scans, machine scans, magazine ads, etc. I don´t have many carts as Diego, but i´ll provide you with info.
