The reviews that I've read say that the games play well, but over at neo-geo.com, people are saying that the game is censored (ie, sweat instead of blood, no Mai bobbie bounce). SNKP seems to still be stuck in 1992 x_x

KOF 2k1 rocks no matter how its censored.

Sides, wasn't the US version of the game always censored? I think the same went for 2k, too. So its not like they cut it out solely for the PS2 release.

    If it's censored, I'll pass.

I'll get the MVS versions instead. That was I can play in US mode with blood and bounciness.

On the one hand, the blood and bouncing are hardly a great loss. On the other hand, it makes little sense to edit them out. The lack of Mai's animation is especially puzzling, since it was apparently in the U.S. versions of the King of Fighters '98 and '99.

SNK's logic escapes me, though at least these edits aren't as extensive as those made to the domestic version of Last Blade 2.

Nonetheless, I plan on picking this one up, or perhaps sticking it on my Christmas list. Bleeding and bouncy or not, it'd be a more welcome gift than socks and underwear.

I've convinced when SNK ports, they just set the code for US version and port what plays on a US MVS board. Same cuts you'd get in a US arcade. I guess they're "looking out for the children" but let's be honest, is there anyone under 18 who is gonna buy this?

    Sucks, doesn't it?

Actually, to ruin the logic of the previous post, I sold KoF 2k/2k1 to a 14 year old kid who's been playign them in an arcade in Nashua since he was 9 or so. Brought a tear to my eye, that's when I started playing Neo games too
