Any Gaming Goals For 2004?

Do you have any gaming goals for 2004? Any specific games you hope to find? Any totals you want to reach for a specific system? For me, I've never been a big collector...the system I have the most games for is the SNES and I still have less than 200 for that one...so that's one thing I want to do, reach 200 for that system. I need about 30 to do that. The trick will be to find that many games that I actually want to play. I'm about 20 shy of reaching 100 for the Dreamcast and I'd like to do that, too. I'd have to make a list of my other systems and see if there's any other even numbers I'd like to reach for any of my other collections...I might go for 200 Playstation games as well even though I still haven't reached 150...since many are pretty cheap it's probably easily attainable. I'm not sure if there are any specific games I really want...one possible goal I'm not sure I really want to accomplish is to go online. Lots of people love online play but I'm not convinced it's for me. Oh, yeah, I might try to finish my collection of EGM back issues. I probably won't try to get every issue...just the ones since the 16-bit era began...

My goals
- Try not to spend so much money on games (this year it was probably around 1500 )
- Reach my goal of 100 Gamecube Games
-Get a burgertime arcade machine (first priority)

I want to break two hundred games for....my collection. That's right, I'm currently at 193 total.

I'd like to get more items for my main collections and perhaps branch out with Virtua Boy, Lynx or perhaps Intellivision.

I'm going to finnish my frickin' NES collection! I know I say this every year, but this time I mean it. Only 82 more carts to go and most of the rare ones are already out of the way (Stadium Events and the Myriad 6-in-1 are going to be a bitch to get though).

I want to get at least one Japanese system that is not *quite* the same as it is in America (So a Famicom would count), find out how to get imports working on my PS2 without truly modding it, get my PS2 sent to Sony so that it will read CDs and DVDs at the same time, buy SOnic Heroes, expand my Xbox collection, get an INTV or Coleco, and get my collection over 400 games (I'm hovering a little over 300 now).

I wanna finish the remodeling of the basement and get my game room set up. Get everything out of boxes and set up the way the ought to be.

I've been thinking of making a list of every game I own and playing them all at least once next year -- maybe even doing a short (even if it's only a paragraph) review of each in the process.

I might even do this with emulated games ... like, a short review of every SNES game, etc. Could turn out to be a long year!

Flack, that's a great idea for a project...I tried it once but wasn't able to keep up with it. I've been thinking of trying it again, though. I don't really have a website anymore so I wouldn't have a place to post it so it'd just be something I keep for myself. Any idea how many games you have? I probably have between 600 and 700 and that's probably not counting my NES collection which I'm giving to a friend...

Only two goals (so far) for next year:

Complete my Sega CD collection and get my own Buy/Sell/Trade VG business going.

Collecting goals ... nothing specific. Perhaps get more imports, and finally relearn the Japanese I've unlearned since university.

Gaming-wise, I'm going to finish the non-remake Final Fantasies in the gaming pile before the PS2 version of XI is all mine.

get close to completing my US TG16 collection.

Finish US SMS collection, then replace all imperfect games with nice minty ones.
Finish Adventure II
Build SMS Dev-cart, make Mark III/SG-1000 adapter. Get a booth at CGE to show ppl rare and overlooked SMS/Sg-1000 games..... maybe.

1) Play more of the games I have and review them on my web site...
2) Actually update said website more than 2-3 times a year...
3) Get closer to a complete First Party NTSC Atari 2600 Collection (Game+Manual)
4) Pick up the Atari and Activision 2600 Manuals I'm missing
5) Get my 5200 sticks refurbed at Best plus get a Redemption setup.
6) Pick up a cheap Colecovision
7) I'd love to pick up Bounty Bob Strikes Back and Dracula X

and 8) Buy and beat the crap out of Adventure II when Cafeman and Racoon Lad finish it!

I'm going to continue to expand my Neo Geo collection, but only with games I want to play. I plan on expanding my Jaguar collection, I am going to get all the official releases for this system, maybe not all of them this year, but I will increase my collection for sure. I will probably start buying the Songbird releases from the Atari Age store, and if a Battlesphere crosses my path for a decent price, I will certainly grab that. I'm at about 50 games for the Jaguar, which is pretty good really, but I do want more, its one of my main machines. I would also like to continue to build my 5200 collection as well, and I also plan on buying more reproduction carts from AA.

Other than that, the rest of my games collection I will leave up to fate, if I come across something interesting for a good price at the thrift, or the used game dealers, then I'll pick it up...as always. The only systems I actively seek out games for are the NEO, Jag, and 5200.

I need to see how many 5200 games I have...if I have less than 50 then I'd like to get up to that number which sounds like a nice even number. I need to pull it out and play it again...been ages since I played Pengo, an old favorite. I used to have about 50 Jag games and I thought about getting a complete set for awhile but I ultimately decided I didn't want to pay full price for a lot of those games and some are still going for that. I then started selling them and I'm now down to about 21 games. That's not a good number...I should either sell one to go to 20 or get at least 4 more for 25. Or I could just sell 11 and go down to 10! I don't have any of the harder to get games...pretty common stuff for the most part.
