I got a couple of scanned ads. But I aint the best scanner and they're not the best quality. That ok? :P
Like here's one that I've thrown about on and off that's been here on my hard drive for a couple years (resized smaller of course)

Joe, this is such an awesome idea! It's such a natural thing for Digital Press to do...it's almost like "Why hasn't this been thought of years ago!?" Glad you did!

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
If you think there's a market for them, I might try it!Originally Posted by KJN

Joe, 55 ads coming your way. All PC gaming ads from 1995.
If anyone else out there has old magazines and a scanner, jump in! It was a blast looking through all these old ads. Now it's off to the garage to find some more!!!

I've temporarily taken the ads down as the page was being leeched big-time last night (you may have noticed the terrible lag in the site and forum). I may move it to one of the mirror servers - either way it will be back online tonight.
Flack, thanks for the scans! I'll have all of those in place this weekend. Awesome stuff.
hey joe here's a special scan for you

Thanks!
Glad you liked them. Tonight's uploads are about 20 ads from a 1988 issue of Compute!'s Gazette. There are ads for Wizardry, Wasteland, Pirates!, Ultima V, and Neuromancer, as well as general ads for Konami, Taito, Capcom, and Microprose. Go check em out, folks!Originally Posted by digitalpress
Edit: Holy crapola! After digging through my old box I found a bunch of my old computer magazines from when I was a kid. I just pulled out several issues of Enter magazine from 1983-1984. You think that Ultima V ad made me feel old? I just scanned in ZORK I.
More uploads coming soon!
Edit 2: Here's just a taste of how far we're going back now.

I would like to draw your attention once again to the now MIGHTY DP advertisement gallery. Over 150 new scans were added today, bringing the total up to somewhere around 500.

In particular, I'd like you to check out two areas of this virtual museum that simply look even cooler than the already cool bits around them.
1. click on "Misc 8-bit Era" (the topmost link), then select page 3 from the bottom of that gallery. Remember those "Which Player Is About To... ?" ads from Atari promoting their arcade-to-home ports? Great, great stuff.
2. click on the "Computers (newer)" link, then select page 2 from the bottom of that gallery. About halfway down the page are the SSI adverts. I just love the artwork on these, and they look particularly awesome when they're all grouped together in this wing.
Enjoy!
Joe,
I have a crap load of NES scans that I am going to scanning for my own website. They already are on my site, though I just want to make them full size. So anyway, I'll send them your way when I get them done.
If anyone else wants to send me some NES scans, that is cool as well. I don't want to step on DP's toes with this, so hopefully I am not.
Looks good Dave but defnitely way too small for me to use. Your links are the size of my thumbnails! If you've got them bigger/better quality please let me know where to grab 'em - I'll be happy to credit you and/or your site in our advert museum pages as well.Originally Posted by TRM
Yes sir, just a few days ago I had wanted to rescan them in fullsize as opposed to this small size. Now since you need them as well as myself, I'll have a reason to get off my butt and rescan them.Originally Posted by digitalpress
Your advert gallery is looking really nice. One mistake though, the Action 52 game listed in the Genesis section is actually for the NES.
WOW, what an awesome collection of ads! I love it. But, I have a correction for this scan from the 2600 section:Originally Posted by digitalpress

... this is NOT a German ad -- it's Dutch.

You interested in C64 adverts Joe? I have every Zzap!64 magazine (90 issues) scanned here from which I can pick out all the advert pages. This could run big
Certainly! You can choose the more interesting ones if you'd like, and let me know when they're up on the FTP site. Thanks again, Mat.Originally Posted by Mayhem
UPDATE.
Over 250 more advertisements added to the gallery today!
There are new ones in just about every system sub-gallery, but I'd like to call your attention to two areas that have the most additions:
1. The TurboGrafx-16 gallery, which also consists of TurboDuo (and hopefully soon PC Engine/Duo) ads, is up to two pages including some very cool two-pagers. Check out Splatterhouse and Devil's Crush. Great stuff.
2. Courtesy of TRM, the NES gallery has been boosted by another 30 ads. Lots and lots of memories in there.
Go take a peek. Enjoy!
UPDATED TODAY!
Over 150 new advertisement scans were added to the gallery, across the board but significant updates in the Atari 2600, "Multi 8-Bit" and "Older Computers" sections.
Great fun, check it out.

MORE BIG UPDATES!
If you think this project has died down at all, you'd be dead wrong. Our scanners have been busy busy busy... check out the advertisement gallery, now over 1200 ads big!

Got CD-i?
We do.
A recently acquired payload of CD-i magazines from the UK produced a cornucopia of rare CD-i advertisements (at least to us here in the states). I've scanned every last one and added them to the gallery.
The gallery is nearly 2000 pages now. Is there a larger archive of video gaming advertisements on the 'net?
Here's the CD-i bit, specifically.
