My most prized game is Brigandine Grand Edition. It's a remake of Brigandine Legend of Forsena, released on the same system in fact. The game is somewhat rare but can be found, and as an example I'd mention that it's much rarer than Ys Book 1 and 2 that can be found easier but still limited quantities.

It's a great game and doesn't sell for as much as it should considering its rarity. Valkyrie Profile, Tactics Ogre, Suikoden 2, and even the original Brigandine are common and sell for more.

I like to play games just as much as I collect though, so if I didn't like the game then I wouldn't be listing it. Brigandine and Brigandine Grand Edition are two of my favorite games.
Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

I've got all kinds of crazy stuff that're considered "collectibles", but one game that I was very thankful to get a hold of is Ys for PC-88. Even if I can't play it on real hardware right now, it's entertaining enough just to marvel at all the included materials with radically different artwork than would later be used (brown haired chubby Adol, different (evil) logo, etc). The MSX version looks similar, but I believe that the packaging/contents were streamlined a bit.

Growing up there were only two arcade games that I committed myself to someday owning: Black Tiger and Street Fighter II Champion Edition. As an early adult I managed to buy both locally as my first two arcade games/cabinets.

My FFII and FFIII US SNES carts. Compared to some of the rarities in this topic they're not much but I treasure them. What's funny is I don't even remember where I got II from, or when lol. It's just a blank. I got FFIII at a rinky dink pawn shop for $10. Just blind luck.

I've also got a 3DO but I don't suppose that should really count. I also have Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence with all the original packaging. I didn't think it was worth a ton until I checked on eBay one day.

Same with Ico. I bought it for $5 at Superstore when it was being cleared out. Original black label with the booklet, just a snapped case which I replaced. Smartest $5 I ever spent. If I had any clue this thing would become as sought after as it is, I would've bought every last one in the bin.

A pain I'm sure many gamers feel lol

My copy of Rescue Terra 1 for the 2600. Mainly because it was the strangest find ever. I found it outside, in the back of an old junk yard/ thrift store, underneath an old wooden bin full of snorkel gear. My buddy reached under the bin to pull out a snorkel fin and behold, out popped the Resuce Terra 1 cartridge. Since he was not a collector he just handed it over to me. They didnt even charge me for it. It now lives on my display shelf.

I have games that are rarer, and I have games that are more valuable, but my pick comes down to a tie: My complete, almost-like new copy of Crusader of Centy, and my complete copy of Ys Book I & II are very likely my two most-prized games that I currently own. I just absolutely adore both of them: fun, colorful, quintessentially old-school, easy to get into, and neither is over too soon. (Click the photo if you wanna see it bigger.)

    Nice, both excellent treasures.

My most prized game - damn that's a tough call. I don't have anything worth HUNDREDS but that's not what constitutes a "prized game" I would say.

I'd probably have to say Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Lunar Silver Star Story Complete, and Skies of Arcadia for Dreamcast. None of those aren't worth TOO much, but they aint' cheap either. And not only that but I enjoy them highly. So much that I rarely play them on purpose so I do not tire of them.

My mini collection Shining Force games I treasure highly, it's not quite complete yet, but one day it will be!

I also have a special fondness for Azure Dreams, both the Playstation and Gameboy versions. It took me forever to find the GB version in mint CIB at an affordable price.

WOW. Since I was a kid I wanted to get Shining Wisdom (I know not Shining Force) for the Saturn. Mainly because at the time it came out I was a huge SNES Zelda fan and the review said it was a clone. It got a crappy score, but I thought if it was like Zelda it would be good enough for me.

I'm kinda in the market for a Saturn now, and when I looked up Shining Wisdom I was shocked to see how much $ it was going for =(

I love my copy of Konami Arcade Classics for the PS1. Can't get enuff of Time Pilot and Gyruss.

I don't ever see myself parting with Super Star Wars for the SNES. Good 2-hour time waster.

I think my most prized game is my CIB copy of Little Samson for the NES. Not only is it worth a few $$, it's also an excellent game that I tend to replay once every year.

Value wise though, it might be my complete, original releases of Mushihimesama and Ibara for the PS2. I bought them brand new because I'm an avid shmup gamer. I just can't believe how much they've gone up in value.

For me the answer is simple, my sentimental and valuable game choice would be the same.

My factory sealed Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Collector's Edition, MINTY

I wanted one for awhile but I was determined to find one at a deal. Found it for $80 back in January, have declined offers as high as $500 to sell it. This item will never leave my collection no matter what.

I do. I have one other. Found them together. I also have Beat'em and Eat'em. Don't like it as much. It is a paddle game. It is very cool, just not as cool as raping an Indian chick with a naked guy walking across the screen with his #+%* hanggin out! They just don't make them like they used to.

I had Spider-Man Web of Fire for 32X which I had bought in the 90's when the 32x was dying, I picked it up either at toys r us or kBee toys, for $5, but when I found out a few years back that it was a collectors Item I sold them on ebay for like $90.

Also last year I picked up like 20 Sega CD/Saturn games, most sealed for $60 total at a game store on SA, among them 2 sealed copied of Keio Flying Squadron which I flipped on ebay for around $400 for both.
