It's an interesting story about people getting into the old school games again.

Probably because most new games suck. They're all graphics and no decent gameplay.. maybe I'll get a Gamecube and all the games I want when they cost $50 altogether and are discontinued. But for now I am quite happy with my NES and Genesis ..

I disagree...there are some development studios that actually care about gameplay nowadays.Originally Posted by Epicenter

Yes, I must agree that games are getting rather stale as the movement shifts more into sex appeal, and more polygons are used to make the female's breasts look rounder and smoother.
Oh well. Maybe the next generation will give us a surprise.

It's about the prototypes, baby!
I agree. There are some wicked new games coming out, that I find just as fun as the old.
Kunoichi is my latest next-gen game, and it's the first game in a LONG time that I will have beaten all three difficulties to. If you're smart enough to play through easy first, it's a good, fast-paced action game. I started on normal, so the fast-paced was downgraded to snail-paced.
Macross by AM2. I loved this, but nobody else apparantly did.
A ton of 16-bit remakes on 128 bit systems. (Star Soldier, PC Genjin, Phantasy Star, Fantasy Zone, Gain Ground, Adventure Island, etc. etc.)
And don't forget all of Sega's innovative DC games like Jet Set Radio, Room Mania, Shenmue, and tons of others.
That doesn't stop me from having a 16-bit RPG or shooter in at least one of my systems at any given time though.
Then there's just cheap bastards like myself who actually prefer the old stuff.
