genesis 3 + 32x is it possible?

finnaly i got my hands on a sega 3 mini console! it's so small and easy to handle i'm thinking on throwing my gen 2 consoles away. is it possible to hook gen3 + 32x without loosing any of the great audio/video properties that gen2 + 32x have? any one done that before? :P both consoles got the same mini din system is the pinout the same?

It's not 'supposed' to work I beleive.

I still can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that you got a gen 2 and 32X to work together without the proper cabling! If you figured that out, you should be able to nail this down once and for all.
