Default PSX Chrono Cross - worth it?

    Hey,

I just started playing through some games that I've had around for a long time, but haven't got around to.

I'd like to know if Chrono Chross for the PSX is worth devoting a lot of time to. I'm not a huge RPG fan, and I never played the original. I started it up and didn't understand what was going on after about 10 minutes. Should I stick with it?

If Chrono Cross confused you after 10 minutes, it's only going to get more perplexing further in. While the game's unique battles, huge cast of characters, and striking atmosphere can be enjoyed without fully understanding the labyrinthine plot, I wouldn't sink a lot of hours into something that doesn't grab you. Chrono Cross is a gorgeous game, but its storyline left a lot of people unsatisfied.

All the same, I'd recommend Chrono Trigger, the first game in the series, if you haven't tried it already. It's far more accessible, and even those who don't favor RPGs tend to like it.

It isn't that I feel that I couldn't understand it, it's just that I don't feel like I should commit that much time to another game. I'm in the middle of Grandia II and Headhunter currently, and I just wasn't grabbed by CC the same way.

Thanks for the response. It'll go back on my shelf for time being.

I've never actually played the game myself, but I did watch my brother play through most of it. I can say that it has some really nice music though.

But like Kid Fenris said, play Chrono Trigger first... it's much more enjoyable.

I never really heard about the release of CC until much later. I actually bought it used for about 10 dollars. Im surprised it wasn't posted all over the place since Crono Triger was such a good game. Still not better than Final Fantasy 6.
