It's not really a 'Mario' game, in my opinion. It's an excellent game in its own rite, but it never should've had the subtitle of: "Super Mario World 2".Why so little love for Yoshi's Island?

Heh. I just read through all the replies and was going to ask the same question. Yeah, it's not really a "proper" Mario game, but it's the absolute pinnacle of 2D platforming IMO. Gets my vote.Originally Posted by slip81
Yoshi's Island is definatley my 2nd fav. platformer on the snes, next to Super Mario World of course. It definately wasn't the "proper" name, I mean considering all the other yoshi games. But now that i think about it, those games really didn't have Mario at all in them, if I can remember?Originally Posted by anagrama
A true sequal to SuperMario World would be a damn dream come true for me! (Sorry, just daydreaming. )
This is BY FAR, the game that was most argued about in my house with my little brother and sister. All of use always wanted to play it. Since there is 3 save files in the game, each of use would take one and see who could get the most stars in a week, or who could get the most stars the fastest, etc. GREAT MEMORIES!Originally Posted by junglehunter
Had to go with RPG because it was so much fun to play. It was excellent and i would love to see a remake. That was a tough choice though because they were all such fun to play but the others got to the point where it was much more fun to play 2 player.
Have you ever played Paper Mario for the N64 and are you looking forward to PaperMario2 for the Gamecube?Originally Posted by izret101
I am looking foreward to playing both of them enough to make a real decision on voting for them. I only played Paper Mario for a hour at most. The new one looks good though.
Yeah. SMB3 was great. I also really like Super Mario RPG.
Super Mario World. Man, I still remember the excitement of finding a hidden goal or keyhole, and discovering Soda Lake and the Special Zone for the first time.
SMB 3 is a close second. When I first saw that Mario could fly, my jaw literally dropped to the floor. I liked all the different items. Back when I had it on the NES, I hated beating Bowser and realizing I had a spare Hammer Brother suit, Fire Flower, or Tanooki suit I didn't use. So needless to say, I was glad that you could save items on the Super Mario All-Stars port.
Super Mario 64 was great, but it had some minor camera problems and it can get repetitive going through each level 6 times.
Ah, tell me about it! It was like finding treasure when discovering the Lake and espcially the Special Zone for the first time. It was pure magic!!Originally Posted by DigitalSpace
And Mario64 definately had some camera issues but what 3-D game doesn't, espcially one as great as Mario64.
I spent so many more hours on SMW than any other game. Sure, I've played SMB1 and 3 a lot (and SMB2 eventually, heh)! But I loved the SNES so much, I used to play it over and over and over. It was my only SNES game for about a year, since games were so expensive to me back then. I rented a bit, and friends brought over other games, but it was pretty much just Mario for a year.
However, going back to SMB3 after SMW, I really liked it more. Maybe I was just sick of SMW, lol. It's silly, but don't really like the SMW graphics as much as those beatiful All Stars and GBA SMB3 ones. The main reason though is that there are more suits in SMB3 than SMW. Yeah, there are different Yoshis, meh. I think I just got really sick of SMW,heh.
sweet. My 2 favorite games have the most votes. Super mario workd, then mario 3.
Sadly Super Mario 64 is my fav and the only one I've ever beaten.

Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA), followed by Super Mario World.
I haven't played much Mario 64 and haven't had a chance to try Mario Sunshine.

I´m starting to feel a bit tired of it. I´ve played it countless times for 10 years, and now when I play it a while (more than an hour) I don´t want to continue (But still is in my top 5 of all time)
Step Back! This is my blast shot!
So does that mean Mario coming is like the coming of Christ? :P (Haha, I hope that doesn't offend anybody.)Originally Posted by dethink
Anyway, like Gideon, picking a favorite Mario game is like picking a favorite child for me. o_O I love 'em all. I'd love to be cheap and just choose Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World, but I guess I'll go with SMB3.
My Favorite mario game is Super mario RPG. that game was a lot of fun. I played it alot, but I still haven't beat it yet. I really have to do that sometime.
