    Default Arcade cabinet question??

    Hey there.

I'm thinking about buying Alien vs Predator, the Capcom arcade version.

I have no idea where to get info, on compatiblity, boards, jamma, etc....

I also, would like to build my own cabinet, but have no idea where to begin.

I'm going to be taking some time off from work, and I don't want to sit around bored all day.

I'd also like to make arcade cabinets for my consoles.

Any links, or help would be appreciated.

I'm not interested in standard cabinets, though.
    I want to make originals.

I just need to know what I'd have to consider, along with all of the specs.

    Thanks so much.

For info on boards and some compatibility info, check out www.klov.com .

As far as building cabs, you can check either www.therealbobroberts.com or www.arcadeshop.com for the electronics parts you will need. There are a few people on the web that have plans for repro cabs, but I've never run across anybody doing completely custom designs. I can't imagine there is too much to it though. As long as you are good working with wood it's just building a cube!!

    Good luck!

Drone, I wish you well, but it sounds like you might be jumping in a little over your head! My recommendation would be to pick up a cheap, non-working machine locally. You'll most likely be able to get one cheaper than it would cost to buy the wood for a new one. Take that one, sand it down, and make it your own. That'll give you a good idea how they're put together, and will help you in making your own creations!

    Good luck!

YEP! I agree 100%. Its cheaper and you will save alot of time that would be spent building the cabinet. Plus you can completely build the control panel how you like, so you can still have some originality to it. And just like xertcev said arcadecontrols is great, they were my home for months...take your time and it will come out just how you wanted.

i will try to get some of my pictures of my cab up so I can post them.
