Not really insanity, but I wanted to know if these were legit or not.....

They could quite possibly be legit Nintendo was originally a playing card manifacturer and these do look a lot like the ones I've seen previously but it is hard to tell for sure without seeing the real thing

It's not on the cards, it appears to be on the pack which is sealed. The auction states that it's a Tax Stamp.

I'd guess that they are or were taxed as a luxury.

They're legit. I was given a deck (totally sealed) and had authenticity verified. Dunno what they'd be worth though.
