Dreamcast online games--still fun to play alone?

Hi there, and thanks for reading....

Question - Phantasy Star Online and Alien Front Online

Can you play these games in single player offline? They look pretty fun, but how fun and how complete are they when you play alone offline?

Any help would be appreciated...thanks, Brian.

I would personally never play any PSO games with online. It just seems boring to me.

yeah you can play PSO offline....but have no clue about alien front online....i bet you can though since the sega online sevice isnt up anymore

Yea, you can play both offline. In fact I never have played either online, only offline. I kinda wish I had given them a try online though while I had the chance....

i guess you could refer to them as phantasy star online/offline.....lol i'm gonna start telling people i like to play phantasy star OFFLINE!!!

I think Phantasy Star OFFLINE....is awesome....i have no clue about the Gamecube Version but i assume that its exactly the same.....i play the dreamcast version and im not gonna waste money on buying the same game for a different system for over 20 bucks......i have no clue about the CARD battle one...sounds gay to me but might be good....I dont even know if its out yet

i so wish there was anyway to play dc games online again. alien front online was incredible online, just incredible. it was just too bad it came out when the dc was dying. if i remember right, it was 1 of the 1st console games ever to incorporate a microphone into an online game if not the 1st. pso, on the other hand, was a game beyond games when it came to online play. anyone that was into pso playing online can vouch, enough said.

but offline, are they fun? pso os very fun, but it is very difficult when playing offline. when you played online, you had an actual party with you, but offline, if it just you.

alien front online, offline is ok. the ai really sux balls, but it is still a very fun game.

FYI, there's a PSO beta server up (fan-developed).
It's VERY beta I hear, but works. Might want to try it out. I don't have my BBA anymore (nor a dial-up provider) so haven't tried it out. Japanese servers are still up anyway.
