    Default Worthwhile GBA Accessory

My brother gave me this Pelican "screen magnifier" for my GBA for Christmas, which I promptly lost under the bed and rediscovered this week. Sitting down and using thing the thing with Konami Arcade Advance I managed to clear the loop in Time Pilot and nearly clear the loop in Scramble, both of which were definite improvements over my usual ability. I think that the (roughly) 50% increase in apparent screen size really helps out. Doom looked better, too. I highly recommend it to anybody trying to dodge bullets on a GBA screen.

I may give this a try because I have serious problems using Contra for NES on mine. The "bad guys" bullets are too small to see well on the SP.

There's a lot of Gameboy games that are just so much easier with a larger screen.

I remember when the super Gameboy for the SNES came out, I finally managed to beat Alleyway, which I had branded impossible.

On the big screen, it was a whole lot easier to actually make it past level 32. I couldn't believe Alleyway actually had an ending.

I have it, but the colors aren't quite right on it and the portability is worth the trouble to me.

Yeah, yeah, the Gameboy and/or Game Boy Player is the coolio shiznit. Right. And when I feel like sticking it, and a Gamecube, and a TV, and a really really really long extension cord in my pocket, well, I'll do that.

Besides, if I wanted to play Time Pilot or Scramble or Doom on a TV screen, I've been able to throw them into my Playstation and/or Saturn for years. Clearly what you are failing to understand is that I want to be able to play Time Pilot at excessively long red lights.

I'll be getting a GBA SP soon as I can, whether it's the Famicom version or a Flame red one. Either way, I want that device that can play NES ROM's. What's it called again? I looked all over Lik-Sang but can't remember.

I'd like to play those obscure games I have that will never get remakes without having to use an eReader.

    What's it called again?

My friends have commented they have'nt need screen mags for their GBA's since upgrading to the SP model. The backlight really helps.

You could use a screen magnifier with the GBA before the SP model? I would have thought that it would be impossible for light to penetrate and get back through. I imagine it would be like watching a black hole, absorbing all light and matter...

Sure, you could use one. I saw ones sold that had a light built in them as well. Just like the ones they made for the eariler generation Game Boys.

I had one made by Nuby for my original brick when I was a kid... I took it apart because I was also curious in how things work..

Same with many other things I had I wish I had never done it to.
