Default Famicom Disk System on eBay - Was I dumb?

Not sure if I made the right move on this one. Couldn't pass it up though.

    What do you think?

    Dude, hell yeah!

You may need to buy a belt for the FDS though. IT says it isn't tested. Mr.Haboobi can help you with that. They aren't hard to install at all. Everything in that auction looks pretty clean.

If you are interested in trading/selling any of those disks, feel free to contact me

Well, it looks decent, but the fragility of this system and the disks I would NOT have bought one that wasn't tested. The disks break real easy and so does the system and especially the belt. I'm willing to bet that you have to replace the best on it and that 1/2 the games dont work...and that 95% of them are illegal pirated copies. Which from the looks of it they are.

Personally, the more I look at it the more of a mistake I see you made, you jumped the gun and wanted one too bad. I shopped around and for a little more than the price you paid I got a famicom, a FDS with Box, 25-30 Famicom games and about 15 FDS games. All original. Plus it was guaranteed to work and it did...and still is.

Plus being that the seller is in Canada he may have tried to use a power supply from an NTSC system and fried the Famicom system. It's possible, I know of people it has happened to.

I hope the best for you, but next time do some more shopping around. I HOPE this isn't a huge mistake you made, and I hope it works, but don't keep your hopes up.

I think it was a pretty good deal. Disks can be pretty costly, so you got lucky there.

Looks good to me. I'd say $166 isn't a lot at all. Especially considering the original price of the unit.

Although personally I'd rather play fds games via emu's.. that is one nice collectors item.

Looks like a great buy to me, did the systems and all the disks work? Also what does that Turbo "Something" + device do?

Not a bad move. Only thing that might be of worry is if it works correctly. But it seems it would just take a little repair to fix that up. Good lookin lot.

Seeing as how this was brought back from the dead after three months.....

Did you ever get the system? Did it work?
