that game should be great. It sounds like RockStar has been working on it for awhile.
It's been a rumored date for a couple of weeks at least, but I guess there was some truth to the rumors.. I was hoping for a little more info on what improvements will be made to the game, but I guess I'll have to wait for that.
I wonder how long it will stay exclusive to the PS2...
Hmmmm...loved GTA3...lost interest in GTAVC....do I buy this game or no? Chances are I will, but I wonder if anything will be new or innovative about it, or will it just be like the other ones in a different city?

Well, how long did it take for GTA3 and Vice City to be released on the other systems? Yup, the GTA eclusivity contact doesn't expire until 2005, so it'll be a while until you see this on anything other than PS2.
Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the time period. GTA3 was the gritty "now;" Vice City was the pastel, Miami-Vice-toned "80s." I'd love to see San Andreas take place in the 70s. California in the 70s? Damn....

Nice! I wonder what Rockstar has up their sleeve for this one.
It would be cool if this upcoming game has a good soundtrack like Vice City did. Either a late 70's timeline with the music of that era or very early 90's. That would be awesome!

Huh wha? What? GTA5? Uhh great, wake me up in a year when something interesting comes out.

I agree with prtnoyd...to much hype for a probably okay game...

I'm sorry to say, I'm not very excited at all.
I don't know why, but I fail to see what everyone likes about this series.
I don't really think it's terribly revolutionary. I suppose the open-endedness adn go-where-you-want aspect of the gameplay is certainly good, but the rest of it does nothing for me. I honestly think again, this game is going for shock value and the allure of the do-anything-you-want-without-paying the -consequences. I also think this is a game that's targeted to the casual gamer (not that that's a bad thing, and not to say that hardcore gamers don't like or play it). If someone can tell me what I'm missing out on, I'm willing to listen...
That open-endedness of it was the revolutionary part.Originally Posted by Mr Mort
No, a game like State of Emergency would be a better example of that. Vice City showed us that Rockstar takes this series seriously and is refining it. I don't know where you're coming up with the casual gamer comment. Most "hardcore" gamers I know love the series. As do the casual gamers I know. I don't know what you're missing out on, but I would urge you to spend a good few hours with the title if you haven't already. I've heard several people echo your comments after about 30min of fucking around with it. Only after they got into the missions and immersed in the story did they appreciate it. I think I completed Vice City at nearly 100% without ever picking up a hooker, or going on some random (not story related) killing spree. I'd been there in the first game, and wanted to just play it straight with the second (and that's where the most fun is to be had with GTA).I also think this is a game that's targeted to the casual gamer (not that that's a bad thing, and not to say that hardcore gamers don't like or play it). YAY! Hopefully it will expand on it even more. I cant see them doing much more to it though.
GTA3 annoyed me, GTAVC amazed me. It was so real. I buy the games for one reason and one reason only. To explore. I barely do the missions at all. Then I just go exploring the city.
It's fun to me at least.
Story? What story? HahahaOriginally Posted by petewhitley

Oh well... at least it's not a sequel to Manhunt.

the GTA games are the only ones i actually buy on release date. They have been making huge improvements in the game from GTA 3 to GTAVC... i will more than likely get this on release day, i just really want them to put a plane in that u can fly easily... also if they made an online mode, that would own
Wonder if they'll be some link to GTA3 in this 70's version like there was for Vice City.

I agree with portnoyd. I dont mind watching someone good at it do the different kills. But after spending 10 minutes playing it I didn't like it.
