    Default turning a nes zapper into sega light phaser

    sega light phaser for master system are extremely rare here
    nes zapper is quite common, i'm looking for the pinouts of both
    guns and trying to connect a nes zapper to my SMS

    Any ideas? is it possible? has anyone done this before?

    It might be much easier to just ask in the "buying and selling" forum if anyone has a spare Phaser for sale or trade. Changing a zapper into a Phaser would be like using a R.O.B. to press the buttons on Controller 2 in Gyromite.

    Just a thought.

    'dunno if it's possible, the SMS phaser works on a different principle than the NES zapper. The SMS gun calculates the position on screen by calculating when it read the scan line on the screen during the screen flash. The nes gun just reads weither it's pointed at something bright during the screen flash.

    That's why SMS gun games can have accurately placed bullett holes on screen, or you can hit individual bricks (Gangster Town bonus stage).

    The NES gun could never do that, and thusly, I believe it wouldn't work.


    I could be wrong though.

    I was pretty much going to type what you did, Racoon Lad. They are not compatible.

    Although I think you can use the SMS gun on a 7800 or vice versa or something.
