Did you buy the GTA with the included NES Adapter ? There was only 1 guy selling them on Ebay with an adapter that works. And he's all out of them.

If not you won't be able to play NES games , because a regular adapter won't work.

My GTA sits in non-use because of this problem.

    Enjoy.
Haha, "love" that bit about the PSP. I think it's possible that Sony will dethrone itself.

A while back I saw a page with pictures of what was claimed to be a portable Super Famicom built by Bandai, but the hinges had broken and they said Bandai didn't acknowledge that it existed. Ho hum.

A handheld SFC/SNES would be very much awesome, of course.

I bought it off a guy with an adaptor included. I planned on purchasing an additional unit if I liked this one. However, I guess if he's all out, I guess this will be my only one

EDIT: Why don't the other adaptors work? Is it an issue with the adaptor and cart being too loose and unstable (being most adaptors are probably tall because of the original toaster NES design)? I read a review online where it said they worked fine, and I saw a picture of a working GTA playing "The Legend of Zelda" NES cart where it used the supplied Famicom adaptor, in conjunction with the exposed/non-encased adaptor that came inside of early US NES games...

Game axe will play nes/famicom games

You can emulate a nes on the GBA if you have a flash cart

I assume someone will write an emulator for tapwave, pocket PC, Game 32, etc to play nes games

    Whoa, hold on,

Are you guys saying there's finally an NES adapter for the GTA? I didn't think they made one yet...

As for a Potable SNES, I began making on once, and it was going great, except the SNESs mysteriously kept dying...I couldn't figure it out!! I still have all the components to make one....I was intending to be the first ever to do it...then I gave up. 3 or 4 SNESs later will do that.

Since when did GTA stop standing for Grand Theft Auto?

While you're checking out the Portables Project site, I suggest hitting the link to NESp while you're there. That is, if you're interested in making your own.

OK a lot of people get confused when they read about "adapter included " in the GTA description on Ebay.
The sellers are talking about the adapter to play Famicom games . You need a special adapter to just play the Famicom games.
But there was one seller on Ebay who was selling a package with the NES adapter.
I don't know if he was using a store bought adapter or what , but it did work.
As far as I know the makers of the GTA haven't released an official adapter yet.
And I don't really know why a regular adapter won't work, I just know I and others have tried several and they don't work. And I've tried the one that comes in the Gyromite Nes cart and it will not work with any NES games.

*edit* Maybe they do sell the adapter now. I guess thats what this seller is claiming.

Hmmm, I got my 72-60 pin adapter to work just fine with my GTA. Never had a problem.

So are you saying this ebay dude was selling the GTA with a GTA-NES adapter or he was selling the GTA with a GTA-FC adapter AND the 72-60 pin adapter?

I am still waiting for it to arrive. It should show up on Saturday or Monday, I figure... I'll let you know how everything works and what the adaptor is..

How is the QUALITY of this thing? Is it 'cheapie'? If it is quality stuff that will last, I might want to purchase a second unit...
