I'm in...definitely interested in meeting folks, whether they be boards or "gaming's rock stars". Reserved my room today, and planning on getting the money moved around for plane tickets when the banks open next week.
Check out the Kleppings!

Just bought the plane ticket Missed last year - my first miss since 1999 - so I'm pretty jacked this time.
Best of all, no family going this time! Don't get me wrong, I love my wife and kids, but in years' past what we do is plan a trip to Vegas around CGE. So the wife and kids had no interest at all in the show and wanted to stay on the strip, whereas I would stay at the Plaza with Altairboy. After a day of expo stuff I was of course then obligated to go do things with the fam and drag poor Altairboy along as well. It was literally like trying to take two vacations at the same time. Not easy to do. Don't want to do it again. I initially griped about the show being moved to SJ since Vegas is an easy drive from New Mexico, but if I can make it into a solo journey every year then San Jose might not be such a bad thing after all.
Everything is booked and I'm set to go! We should get a group together on Friday and head over to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, they have an awesome arcade there.
Wells...everything is now booked from my end....plane tickets, hotel and passes for CGE. Oobgarm now owns my soul, until I pay him back....shit....
But at least my ass will be heading to Cali. Eep eep. Grunty may make an appearance, but he may be too fat.
I wish it was nows...me want to go....eeps!
RIP Kamino. 1984-2010. Yes, yes I do like nes...
<+skaar> Maybe you should ask yourself "What is it about me that makes men not want to let me penetrate them?"
For the record I was not dragged along, I went willingly. In fact, if I didn't go with Pantechnicon and family I most probably would have spent my CGE evenings in my hotel room playing video games (which is what I did at CGE2K3). So, hanging out with someone else's family wasn't so bad. Besides, Pantechnicon's kids are sooo cute!Originally Posted by Pantechnicon

Not to be a a prty pooper or anything but wouldn't it be a better idea to have this meeting saturday night? everybody has mixed landing times, and there is probably going to be a party friday night to. There is more then enough time on saturday. Just a thought.

No, the Alumni Dinner is Friday night. The party is Saturday night. Since only specific people get invited to the dinner, we may as well have something else to do.
People need to start posting flights and stuff so we can quardinate people getting picked up from the airport. Im offering some airport pickups and hotel deliveries, if im given notice, and we can quardinate properely.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Ohhh. Gotch ya. I am looking foward to this, should be fun. Is this an old time arcade or a newer style one with rides and stuff?Originally Posted by punkoffgirl

Looks like Tune and I are in Cali at 11:05 AM via Northwest Airlines. I intended on taking a cab to the hotel or something of that nature, I didn't reserve a car since we're staying at the Mariott. I had no idea that Santa Cruz was only 17 miles away, and therefore did not intend on driving anywhere.
I'm sure we'll all figure something out.
The Casino arcade was more old school, I don't recall seeing and rides or anything like a Wonderpark would have. There's a section that has old games, and a section with new ones, too. The other arcade, which wasn't as cool, had a mini golf course inside and pool tables and stuff. The boardwalk also has an old wooden Rollercoaster(which is awesome, BTW) and some other rides, too.Originally Posted by MarioAllStar2600
Do keep in mind that this is what I recall from being there about 6-7 years ago, but I'm sure most of it is the same.
