If it's real, it's SOLD!
My son's have GBA's, and I've been in no rush to snag an SP. This would force my hand.

those games just ports? are they full price?
now THAT is the SP model i have been waiting for-
i would buy that
willie
I would buy that in a second
I am one jaded, dried out piece of jerky when I thought that's nothing a similarly designed GBA vinyl skin couldn't recreate. I also have a feeling the PocketNES emulator runs circles over these 'ports' of Nintendo's.
I think I'll hold out until they come up with a new physical design.
How exactly does that have any resemblance to the NES?
I just don't see it...

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
Looks ok. I would get it if it was cheap.
Sorry Ryan, but your girlfriend is in another school.

Look at the pad, then look at an NES controller.Originally Posted by rbudrick

Well, yeah, I know r-bud's smarter than that. Just had to point that out :)
I hope they've got the same cool textured bit between the buttons like the real thing has :)
Anyhow, I've posted the news (minus the scan, because once again I share the Tony's concerns) @ GameSpy Forums
that thing looks awesome to me. since i don't have an sp yet (just a platinum gba) , i'm definitely gonna pick this up when it comes out. i i won't be buying any of the games when they come out since i already have them for nes and i only play game boy at home anyway.
Just looks like a skin on a platinum SP to me?

Looks nice, hope it's real. I have to admit it looks awfully photoshop-ish for an official Nintendo memo.
I'm really hoping it's real though, and I hope to God thos games arent full price. I'd say 10.00 would be good at most.
They're the same as the games being released in Japan, which are about the same as the ones already released for the E-reader in the United States. It kind of burns me, because I spent good money on the E-reader and was expecting Nintendo to support it better than they have. It seems that they're already determined to obsolete it.

Hey, it's the only GBA SP design I really like, unless you count the Famicom GBA SP I suppose, but that'd be a distant second.Originally Posted by Phosphor Dot Fossils

Of course. Every single GB/GBA special edition is always just some new color, skin or sticker on the thing. Personally I dig it But I won't be forking out more cash for another GBA anytime soon cool looking or not. However if I DIDN'T have one already.. this would be the one I'd getOriginally Posted by Sylentwulf
Why couldn't they just have a dark gray back and light gray front, with red text for the buttons or something. Make it look like the system and not the controller. That actually looks ugly. The NES controller was kind of ugly. They should have followed the look of the original Game Boy, which made sense of the colors used with the NES.. (dark gray border around screen, light gray otherwise).
The Famicom styled SP looks fantastic....this doesn't
Excuse my saying this, but the ancient phrase "Opinions are like assholes..." comes to mind.Originally Posted by The Manimal
I think the NES controller is a masterpiece of near-minimalist design myself. I also think the design you hint at would be the worst possible way to put this thing together. That's just me, though.
