    Default Best Wrestling Game Ever

I've been playing WWF No Mercy for at least an hour every day for the past 2 weeks, and loving it...the release of Def Jam Vendetta started to rekindle my old geeky love of wrestling, and getting WCW Vs. the World for PSX set it on fire. So, WWF No Mercy gets my vote...how about yours? WWF Smackdown 2? WCW/NwO Revenge? Toukon Retsuden 3? WWF Wrestlefest? Fire Pro Wrestling 6 Man Scramble? Pro Wrestling for NES?

Pro Wrestling is still my favorite wresting game. I love it. If you have a chance to pick it up, well, as a wrestling game fan that you appear to be evolving into, get it.

You may not find enough friends to talk into playing it with you (my problem). But if you do, it's great fun.

I've had it for quite a while, it's a great one for people that don't watch wrestling.

I'm kind of partial to the King of Collosseum series of games that came out on PS2 in JPN. They're from the same programmers that developed the Fire Pro series.

I'm not big on wrestling games. Out of the few I've played with friends, it's a tie between WWF Smackdown 2 for PSX or WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain for PS2.

hmm. Did you just watch the Filter episode on G4 last night on "best wrestling games?" They had Smackdown-herecomesthepain as #1 and No Mercy #2.

My alltime favorite was the arcade game i think called "mat mania"? with that really cookey referee one,,twoo,,,threeee!

Console wise i actually liked tecmo wresting on the NES. I just got a dc enabler for my dreamcast and looking forward to playing Fire Pro wrestling D, Giant Gram 2000, and Toukon Retsuden 4 --gotta go -much japanese to be learned!

I'm not a huge wrestling fan but the wrestling game I still pick up and play today is WCW/NWO Revenge on N-64. I got it for 99 cents and it's lasted much longer than the cheeseburger i bought for 99 cents that day. It's a great game with a simple control scheme.

    Fire Pro Wrestling:Six Man Scramble

It may have 2D graphics, but you won't care.

Hundreds of wrestlers plus the capability to create anyone. Thousands of moves.

The only drawback is having to use a conversion table to understand what the screen says if you don't read Japanese.

Fire Pro on the Dreamcast was pretty cool too. You could download additionally created moves to apply to your characters. I remember that not long after Kurt Angle began using the ankle lock, Spike created a move you could put on a VMU that did just that.

    Yes, yes, YES!

    See, heres why:

You get yourself a Nexus memory card for the Dreamcast (with PC link), and download the many edit packs out there. With Fire Pro D, the customization is so insane that the current WWE and NWA:TNA rosters can be created, including RoH, CZW... old school ECW, and their LOGOS as well, so you don't have to deal with the default ones either.

    http://fpwd2k.gswf.org/EditPacksUpdated.html

That site puts all edit packs in Nexus and VMU format, so that if you have dialup you can use the Dreamcast ITSELF to get your edit packs and put it on normal VMUs.

I'm going to get bashed for this...

    WWF Wrestlemania X8.

I'm not a wrestling game fan, but I was able to get into X8. Just because I found it the easiest to hand out a Stunner to anyone that I felt deserved it. Namely the Rock, Scott Hall, and Trish Stratus.

The storylines and created characters my friends and I have made in Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain are legendary. The game would've been so many times better, though, had they included more CAW slots. We barely use the normal guys (except for a few of the legends), and indeed, when you've got Churchill in there, why bother?

    Today's feuds:
Ric Flair and Robocop-their unfinished business from WCW will finally come to an end.

Fred Sanford vs Kevin Harding, over the last bottle of Ripple.

Ikari Warriors vs Puffy AmiYumi, two dominating forces that will finally clash in a fight over the tag titles.

Foodle Spanes vs the MCWA Erik Watts Memorial champion, Derek Brunt.

and the ongoing fight between Dr. Robotnik and the undead "Mr. Sega", Sean Muciek.
And some others, because I'm too lazy to type em up.

    I've got a favorite 2D and a favorite 3D.

The 3D favorite is the favorite of MANY. No Mercy for N64. Man, the HOURS we've poured into that game over the years. It never gets old. Super fluid and fun, one of the best four-player games ever.

Teh 2D favorite is an underdog, as I haven't heard anyone mention it yet. It's WWF Royal Rumble for SNES. Lots of fun with this game back in the day, and it's still a great game if you just want to pick one up and quickly maul a dozen opponents.

The last one I really got into was Def Jam Vendetta, which is OK... kinda repetitive I thought. I'm looking forward to playing the last two PS2 WWE/WWF games, I hear they're pretty spectacular.

I don't believe this! It's pure heresy! No one's nominated APPOOOH! as their fave! WTFOMGBFD

Okay, I was obviously joking. Wrestling's hardly my favorite genre... I could never get the hang of it. I find it too complex, but that's probably just because I suck. In my opinion, the simpler, the better. Pro Wrestling would be my favorite game of the genre, submitting to Yashiro's theory that it's the game for people that don't watch wrestling, like Tecmo Super Bowl is the football game for people that don't watch football, Blades of Steel is the hockey game for people that don't watch hockey, the Pro Curling microgame in Wario Ware Inc. is for people that don't watch curling, and so on, and so forth, and I'll just shut my hole that intakes pies... now.
That's it! Next stop: The Junkyard. Population: You!
