OK, I've got to let this out. Why on earth do people put reserves on items like this? The ONLY thing that says is I'm an idiot and I want too much for this thing. If you didn't want too much then you wouldn't have put a reserve on it and if you weren't stupid, you would realize that this item will hit its realistic price every time one is posted. Right?

Yes, I've relisted the Adventurevision because I spelled it wrong in the title of my ebay listing. If anyone was doing a search they may not find it.
About the reserve, I.ve sold about 2000 items on ebay, and my experience is it is cheaper to list a reserve, and it keeps the item from going to cheaply. Then I can relist. Not all interested partys are looking all the time. I've had items not sale, and relisted them, and sold them later for much more than the listing price. For the record I'm not a gamer, so I found one adventure vision sold on ebay in the same condition as mine, and it went for $650.00 with only one game, mine has two.

So if you are not a gamer how did you come by this treasure? I want one of these also, but I am not one of these lucky people who find them cheap and sell them dear. As a matter of fact I would never sell one if I found one because I collect games like this. I guess I will just have to bide my time and either:

A) get lucky and find one locally for a decent price (not very likely)
B) Save up around $800 or more so I can bid on one of these in the future on ebay.
C) Give up on ever owning one of these because I can't justify spending top dollar.

I would really like to know why people are so willing to sell these units when there value can only go up with time as they become more rare.

Well at least I can play the games on MESS.

I will commend you robotiques for having a very reasonable reserve price for this item. I just know the bidding is going to be fierce for this unit. I could live with spending $500 on yours considering it is in better shape then the last one on ebay and you have 2 games.

As I said I'm not a gamer. My son thinks I'm crazy for selling it. I search the garage sales in my area for anything I suspect may be collectable. I've found a few old systems, and have learned from listing them on ebay.
I found the Adventure Vision at a moving sale. It was sitting alone on the floor. No one at the sale picked it up. So I did. I didn't know until I searched ebay that it was so rare. I GOT IT FOR $1.00 !!!!
While researching it I found the Digital Press site, and it looked like a cool place to list it. I also found a couple of newsgroups, and have listed it.
My big kick is finding goodies at the sales, but anymore people are aware that many things can be valuable. With ebay being so popular, and all the TV shows that show people finding $100,000.00 treasures in the attic. It's getting harder to find a bargain.

How is that saying he is dumb? I see it as him protecting himself. And $500 is not way too much for that.

I ain't no Pinball Wizard. The last game I got into was Maniac Mansion on the C-64. I started on a Ti-94A (looks like I should have held on to the games).
I really appreciate your interest in the old systems, but for me I never got beyond the joystick. My daughter had Mario Bros, and she whouldn't let me play long enough to learn the buttons.
