Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.
It's hard... too fucking hard.
I think the balance is horrible. I like a challenge, but it's a bit ridiculous.
Okay maybe I'll just rent it then.. any others?

this game will drive an emotionally unstable man to tears.
as for me, i just went "gah!" and turned it off for a while.
Stage 1-2 are the hardest. 3-9 flows pretty well. Stage 10 is a bitch. I still haven't beaten it. I punched the wall once during this game, and I never do that, well, not since the NES days anyway.
really fucking hard
From what I hear, the game sucks HUGE.
EVERYBODY that I ask says that it's just too damned unfair....but the graphics are pure eye candy.
Another XboX waste of money. If you can't play it with a moderate amount of skill, then it's not good. And to think that the release date kept getting shoved back......
Those people who say the game sucks aren't gamers. They are these homo frat kids who sit around and play sports games (I love sports too btw)and have no idea what it's like to play through a challenging game. Is Ninja Gaiden hard? Yes. Is it impossible? No. This game is a fantastic game with a great challenge, much like the original Ninja Gaiden. Each time you make it past a part and once you finally beat it you feel like you accomplished something. It's much better than most games out that are no challenge and you just need to time to walk through it. I would give the game a perfect score other than the fact that the camera is an issue in a few areas. Other than that it has amazing gameplay, graphics, sounds, etc..
That is a misinformed opinion. There is plenty of room for skill, too much actually. This game keeps you on your toes, and some people aren't used to that.Originally Posted by jdc

I don't think it's that hard. Frankly I'm a bit pissed at the black spider ninjas and their incindiary shurikens...but still nothing to bitch too much about this game is still too damn fun
Like I said....I've personally yet to try it. This is what I've been told by others. They don't like it too much considering the anticipation that they had for it. They're basically saying that it's too hard for a gamer of moderate skill and that they shouldn't have wasted the money on it.
I'm not playing it because I'm hooked on Norrath. That game's no walk in the park either. That's one of the reasons why I'm currently obsessed with it. The challenge is fun.

I've always scoffed at the idea that "back in the old days, games were harder" - I'm still not sure I buy it, but... judging from a lot of comments, it does seem that unlike the old days, people don't know how to deal with a challenging game.
Some people (like me) are bound to get stuck, but too many people just throw their hands in the air after a couple deaths!
OMG, that's the point where I punched the wall!Originally Posted by youruglyclone
Don't worry, there aren't many of those guys after that level. Just wait till level 10 and the pink creatures, lol. Still I had more problem with those damn black ninja's, when you're trying to conserve potions, it really grates the nerves. Especialy since at that point you don't have the flying slash move, and you have guys trying to strap you with explosives.
Omg, I just read the manual before posting this. I didn't know he could run on water, i'm gonna have to try that!
I think this and Kunoichi should've met some common ground in difficulty. Not to shake a stick at Kunoichi -- it's qutie challenging as well, but in a different way.
In Ninja Gaiden a LOT of weight is carried on combat, and attacks. Some enemies can take off half your bar just b/c you goof up once. In Kunoichi, the platforming starts to be a challenge about halfway through the game, with the last 2-3 stages being platforming nightmare.
I´m a good platformer player, but the Ninja Gaiden saga crashed my brain and destroyed my fingers...i think i had finished Ninja Gaiden 2, but the rest are a shit...
