Super NES has got to be my all time favorite console. Moving from the NES graphics, the SNES blew me away when it was released. It has my favorite games of all time on it. Super Metroid, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy III, and Chrono Trigger. Its the only console I still play daily to this day.
Milking is for COWS, not GAMES.

    Best System Ever:
    Nintendo 64

It has "Mario Kart 64", "Paper Mario", "Diddy Kong Racing", and "Banjo-Kazooie", What's not to love!

    Runner Up:
    PlayStation

The Only games I have played 3 games for PSX, But So far I only like "Final Fantasy 7" and "Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22" (I hate "2Xtreme"!)

    Other Systems:

Atari 400 (Do the "Donkey Kong"!)
NES ("Mega Man" is in the House!)
    Atari 2600 (Gotta' Have "Pitfall"!)
    Game Boy ("Tetris"!)
Game Boy Color (Must Play "Harvest Moon"!)
Gamecube ("Super Smash Bros. Melee" is a Must have!"
Sega Genesis (Because "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" is cool)
Sega CD ("Sonic CD" Kicks Butt!)
    Sega 32X ("Knuckles Caotix" Rocks!)
PlayStation 2 (I have only Played "Crash: The Wrath of Cortex" and "Crash Nitro Kart")
X-Box (It's good to fart together!)

I have 8 different systems including the Dreamcast, PS2 and X-box, but the system that still holds a special place in my heart is my Atari 5200. It's still the system I enjoy the most...

While I'll never forget the summers I spent playing the 2600 at grandma's house I have to go with the NES. It has my top 5 games of all time.

My top 5 games of all time that happen to all be NES games

    1. Tecmo Super Bowl
    2. River City Ransom
    3. Megaman 2
    4. Wall Street Kid
    5. Ice Hockey

Dreamcast for the shooters, and PS1 for the variety of great games.

Well the 2600 really started the home gaming scene, but the NES saved the whole gaming scene. Why? because it had a crap load of fun and innovative games thats why. so my vote goes to the NES.

I couldn't choose based on that. I have 144 NES games, 88 PSX games and if you count Sega CD and 32X, 160 Genesis games.

I think the genesis and dreamcast are the best. Genesis because it had virtua racing, out of this world, and gunstar heros. The dreamcast because it was open for anyone to easly develop home brewed games and apps.

That is a lot of games. Well I like every system I own, so I didn't vote. Each system has their own "unique"...thing.

Well, so do I and I actually have 610 games. Not a big number compared to what others have on this forum. But a lot in my eyes. Probably if I were to weed out what games I have no intention of playing, I'd probably only have 100 games or so all together. And probably a fatter wallet too.

My favorite(s) would be my Xbox and Cube plus my GBA for on-the-go Monkey-Bashing.

I can't BELIEVE I missed out on adding to this topic a while ago!

My vote goes to the NES, my first love. The VCS was a beautiful piece of work that really did get better with age, and it takes my second place finish, but even though it really got gaming off the ground and took control of a growing industry, the NES brought back that industry when it collapsed in the mid-1980s. With beautiful and crisp graphics that I believe hold up even today (if they didn't, would we be seeing the retro revival that we are today?), a remarkable controller and controller layout, incredible games that I feel will stand the test of time and characters that have become legendary, the NES is well-deserving of a first-place finish.

Like I said, second (and believe me, a CLOSE second) is the VCS, and my third finisher goes to the Dreamcast. Even if JUST for Chu Chu Rocket and the ushering in of true console online gaming.

Wow.. Thank God it's just a bump. I saw my post and I said I had "610 games". It's like 50 more than that now.

Wow. 50 games in 8 months.

The Dreamcast got my vote. it has a huge variety of games and homebrews, you can surf the web or play games online, plus there are soo many cool peripherals like the mouse, keyboard, that fishing thingy, The VMU, lightguns, ETC, ETC. second up would be DUH! the SNES.

I voted for the Neo-Geo (AES specifically) because arcade style games are my favorites and it is a system that I will always want but will never own

I voted Sega Saturn or personal reasons.

An Atari 2600 was my first console ever; Genesis was the first console that I was old enough to buy my own games for, and it instilled in me a misguided love for Sega; NES was the system which brought gaming into the main stream; PSX brought gaming to the forefront of culture; Dreamcast was the king from 1999-2001 and pioneered online console gaming; and Xbox is probably the best home console at the moment; but to me personally Sega Saturn was the best one ever.

No one who did have a NetLink wouldn’t understand the term NetLinker and what if felt to be part of a community of people who all shared a common thread, and all of us were new to the internet. With my NetLink I was introduced to the internet, I played my first online games with this device, I learned how to create a webpage and write HTML… It was a singularly unique experience which cannot happen more than once.

The historical argument for the 2600 being the best system is slightly flawed. If it wasn’t going to be Atari, it would have been someone else. The Fairchild Channel-F was the first reprogrammable home console which beat the 2600 out the door, 1974 saw Magnavox’s first efforts. The point is that if it weren’t Atari it would have been some one else, and we would be having this debate today, regardless.

Well - I picked Nintendo 64 (only 4 little votes) because it was the first really cool gaming system. Sure the current stuff in great, but I started with pong, then atari, thenthe first nintendo, but nintendo 64 was shuch a huge step up and stared the video game wars.
