Default Ever Recognize a Name in a Video Games Credits?

This actually happened to me for the first time last week. I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and after I beat it the credits starting rolling. For some reason I actually decided to read them this time and lo and behold I saw Steve Woita and Tim Skelly's names in there (I had forgotten they helped out on the game). It was actually pretty neat to finish a game and say "Hey I know that guy!". I had actually seen Steve Woita's name in the Kid Chameleon credits years ago, but I didn't know him at that point.

Incidentally I also noticed Clint Dyer's name in the back of the Knuckles Chaotix manual under "Special Thanks". I wonder what he did on the game?

I see PR people I talk to via email in almost every game I beat. Never someone I know "in real life" though. One day I want MY NAME to be in there...

Default Time for a little namedropping!

Well, let's see... my friend from the Mega Man Home Page, Mandi Paugh, did the artwork for the Game Boy Advance release Dragonball Z: Legacy of Goku. I also noticed that Tyrone Rodriguez had a hand in the translation of Crusader of Centy, an obscure Genesis game similar to Zelda: A Link to the Past. He used to edit a video game fanzine, then went on to write for the magazine Tips & Tricks.

A lot of the people I work with show up in Nintendo's First Party titles. A lot of people work on a game, but don't get their name in the credits, especially if they are a temporary or associate employee.

Sean Kelly and John Hardie's names appear in the credits of numerous Digital Eclipse compilations.

Oh yeah and don't forget Daniel "newcoleco" Bienvenu, Sylvain "Sly DC" de Chantal and yours truly in the credits of Ms. Space Fury. 8)

I don't know him personally, but Michael Bell, the voice of Raziel in the "Soul Reaver" series, does voiceover/narration work & was the voice of Zan the Wonder-Twin on the old "Superfriends" cartoon if I'm not mistaken...

I see he's also listed in the voice credits for Baldur's Gate: DA (PS2).

I used to work with Rob Alvey at Disneyland and it was cool to see him in the Genesis Aladin credits. That was before I met a lot of people in the industry.

My name appears in the credits, along with John Hardie, Sean Kelly, and Curt Vendel, for the Atari Anthologies.

Jay Smith's name appear in the credits for Ten Pin Alley. When I mentioned it to him last year at CGE2k1, he was sincerely surprised that I had noticed it.

Wow, I'm going to have to start reading credits more often! Which Digital Eclipse games were those?

Hopefully one day I'll get my name in the credits somewhere. Probably under "People paid to keep quiet about the poor quality of this game."

As a goof, my name was included in the credits of Jet Moto 2 for the Playstation (good friends with the producer at the time). Kinda neat seeing your name in "lights".

Hmmm...If I tell you, then you'd have the slight opportunity to track me down, and GASP!... Steal my beloved Up'n Down Arcade machine!

But if you need to know..... here's a hint...
It's based on a popular animated series, which recently had a big screen adaptation this summer.

    And the game REALLY sucks.

    Default Me too!

In Virtual Pinball for Sega Genesis. A friend that I hadn't seen since middle school was credited as: "Level Design". BTW, his dad was (if I'm not mistaken) one of the first 5 or so folks at Electronic Arts.

yeah, I noticed those names in the Digital Eclipse anthologies, as well as Chris Charla who conducted the interviews w/Nolan in one of them.

Maurice Molyneux is in Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future's credits. I don't know him face to face but we've talked via email many times, mostly about "Adventure II" stuff a year ago. In the pre-Raccoon Lad days of Adventure II that is.

(Raccoon will be in Koffi's credits too, as he designed an animal or two for me. Caf Jr told me, incidentally, that the Raccoon looks awesome in Koffi -- he just blurted that out when I was testing it one day. Working with artists is great! )

I noticed the name Reggie Bannister in the credits of "Hard Ball" for the Commodore 64. It angers me. BOYYYYY!

You play a good game, BOYYYYY!

You mean this one? I didn't find it to be too bad, as you can tell by clicking that link.

So do you work for Sennari, or BAM!? I'm guessing Sennari, since you only mentioned one game with your credits in it...

If it's BAM! though, thanks for sending us stuff to review.

    7.8!!!!! You're MAD!!!

The graphics stink, the gameplay is repedative as hell, and the whole game reeks of "rush job"

At least the Cut-scenes aren't too bad
