Default Is my TurboGrafx-16 controller port broken?

I just tried to play some Turbo, and I had a problem with my control pad. At least at first I thought is was the control pad. Normally you hit the Run button to start a game, and whenever I hit the button nothing happened. Then I tried all the other buttons. Nothing happened. The when I pressed left on the D-Pad the game would start. Also when I pressed left on the D-Pad my character would move and kick (China Warrior).

It appears that the only thing that was working on the controller was left on the D-Pad.

So I thought my controller was broken. So I hooked up another controller and the exact same thing happened. So now I think it has to do with the actual TG-16 unit. I think something is wrong with the little plug that you plug the controller into.

Is there anything I need to do, or is my Turbo useless now, and I need to get another one?

Your socket may need to be resoldered in, or some bridges run from the socket to the points on the PCB that are no longer continuous.

Yes, it's broken, but it's unlikely that it's unfixable.
