    Default Atari question

I saw something in my local video game store the other day that I hadn't seen before, although I'm sure it's not rare. It was an Atari game folder...it was big, like a ring binder, and inside it had slots for storing 2600/VCS games. I think it could hold about 16 games in all. It had the Atari logo on the front of it and was kinda dark red in color. In fact, the guy at the store had two of them. Are they unusual at all?

I don't know what you mean by "unusual", but I saw that Junglehunter (on the forums here) has one. They're around, I guess. AtariAge might have some info on it (though I'm sure that this thread will be flooded with more informed responses in no time).

If you have what I'm thinking of it's relatively common. I don't think it holds that many games though, maybe more like 12.

Alrighty. Thanks for the replies. Maybe it did only hold 12 games... the guy showed it to me but at the time I didn't count how many carts it held. Guess I won't be going back and buying the folders then.

Well they were sorta uncommon back in the day, but are getting much rarer now if it is the one I am thinking of. Most people threw theirs out, destroyed it, or they didn't age well. They arent exactly heavy-duty items (and they sure as hell ain't no dirt common door stop like Combat or ET). Worth picking up, definitely. Well, if the price is right, anyway.

I'm pretty sure it wa the tri-fold one because it was a dark brown (I thought dark red but I guess it might have been dark brown) and it definately wasn't a light tan color. Thinking about it, 8 carts might be right also. Damn, I probably should have bought both of them. lol Might make quick trip to the store this weekend to see if he still has them. If as you say they are hard to find, how much is one worth?
