Just wait it out another week or so before giving him bad feedback. Maybe he had a website and forgot to renew it and thats where his email was.

Both the negs were from the same buyer. Judging by the space in time between his last few feedbacks, it looks like his account may have been hijacked by a scammer. Ebay is like playing roulette with a blindfold on and trusting the croupier to tell you what number the ball landed on. I hope it works out okay in the end for you, but if not at least you didn't lose a lot of money.

FWIW, as convenient as it is to use the Checkout feature, etc. etc., I always, always, always make sure I've gotten a real live e-mail from a live person before I send money. If it's one of these jokers who says "Don't e-mail me about anything, my automatic system will tell you what you need to know," I don't bid. Something just rings alarm bells in my head when a seller gets that way. This is just one of the many ways I think eBay has become less than what it once was.

Me too. I usually click on the Request Total link. Here is my email I send:

Hi. Just wanted to make contact before sending any money. I will be paying with paypal. Please reply and I will send you the money.

And if they do not reply I do not pay.
