worked for me. Also check out http://www.the-underdogs.org/ (check out the non-pc underdogs section under 'special'.
That should get you going.
It works on my model 2. I dont think sega had to worrie about Cd-Rs back then, so they didn' put any anti piracy bios in it. I love my free copy of snatcher plays like a champ

Works fine on my CDX too. I back up my expensive games and play the burns.

But can you copy NTSC Sega CD games and get them to run on a PAL Mega CD system - and vice versa?
If you're just going to drop the game in a burner and copy it to a cd (which works fine, though with cheap burners the slower the burn speed the better I've found) it probably won't since by all intents and purposes it's an NSTC Sega CD game. There may be a way to rip the info and screw around with it, but I haven't heard of one. Anyone know of any Dreamcast-esque bootdisk or swap methods?
That's what my boyfriend's brother does. His Sega CD games are beat up like hell, so he has better luck getting the backups to load than the original games.
You can't run PAL Mega CDs on a US system without a mod of some sort or a special convertor. I don't know about the other way around. You also can't run Jp Mega CDs on a US system.Originally Posted by dreamcaster

There is a program called "SCD_conv" that will allow you to alter the region coding on an ISO image of a SCD game, however it is not especially user-friendly. So unless you are fairly technically minded, it's not worth bothering with.
Oh, and also it only works for about 50% of games. I managed to make a PAL copy of Dennin Aleste. But it didn't work for Masked Rider Zo.

OOPS! Double post!

Holy crap, i assumed this wouldnt be possible. I never need to take my games out ever again and risk my brother getting his grubby mits on them.
vist my games stuff for sale http://members.ebay.co.uk/ws2/eBayIS...=gunstar_green
I tried that program too and I only got Shadowrun and Lodoss Senki to work with it.Originally Posted by Vroomfunkel
And it does not work on Sonic CD, which is the only Sega CD game that I care to import since they changed the music for the american release (much like they did with Sonic Adventure music change for US release). There's a compatibility list somewhere - google it.Originally Posted by Vroomfunkel
I had been making backups and using them on my CDX, works great.
especially Snatcher, what a great game.

Would changing the 'E' in European games to a 'U', make European games run on a USA Sega CD?
You can view the game through a hex editor and chnage that bit.
ConvSCD is a newer program that has a much higher success rate than scd_conv. Basically, it just copies the whole header for a Japanese, US, or European game over the original header. I'm not sure what scd_conv did differently, but it's pretty funny that nobody just figured out this would work on most games in the first place.
