In the spirit of the Gamecube Must Haves post, I decided to post this, since I'm planning on picking up a GBA, and either Circle of the Moon or Harmony of Disonance (maybe both) later this week. What other games are must haves, and why?

Golden Sun is probably the only big must have for the GBA. For me the control layout of the GBA is to crappy for good platform control so only the Rpg's are playable for me. I liked BoF 1-2 (if you missed them on the SNES, which is likely.) Megaman Battle Network 1 was interesting and had some good music.

pinball of the dead.
Flash Advance linker and Flash ROM cart. That's the only essential for me. Seriously though, IMO the latest Castlevania a must have (can't remember the english title I was playing the japanese version) and so is Konami Classics. And if you like RPGs, Golden Sun.
I don't like RPGs, but I'd even say Golden Sun is a must buy. I'm looking forward to the soon-to-be-released sequel. That WILL be a must buy.
Tony Hawk Pro SKater 2 & 3, Harmony of Dissonance, Megaman Zero, and any of the Super Mario Advance games are good ones to have as well.

NES, SNES, & Gameboy Collector
Super Mario Land
Tetris
Alleyway
Zelda Oracle of Seasons/Ages (if you want all the items at least)
Boxxle
Chu Chu Rocket
Super Dodgeball
Mario Kart Super Circuit
Castlevania
Pinball of the Dead
Super Mario Advanced 2: SMW
Advanced Wars
Golden Sun
Bomberman Tournament (so-so--has elements of classic bomberman with RPG)
If you can find the Survival Kids for GBC, it's a really fun game IMO. One of my favs.
Sir, you must purchase Pinball of the Dead. Its silver spheres please me.
You play a good game, BOYYYYY!
I'd be l;ying if I said I wasn't extremely tempted by this. I mean, playing NES games on my GBA? Awesome. But won't that end up costing upwards of $200 in addition to the cost of my GBA? I'm not sure a portable NES is worth that....Originally Posted by congobongo
It'll cost you apprx. the amount of say 4 new titles. Do you plan on buying 4 new titles? Is it worth it? Yes. I only have the 64 cart and for me that's good enough. I don't use my GBA that much but it's nice to be able to "test" any game at any time.Originally Posted by WiseSalesman

Pinball of the Dead: Like Pinball? Like HOTD? Then you simply *must* get this game. They really did an excellent job with it. It even includes voice/sound samples AND (albeit, rezzed down) video from the HOTD series. I'd love to see more Pinball of the Dead games, great fun.
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.
If you like turn-based strategy, then Advance Wars will eat your life. And aren't we all looking for a game like that?

If you're at all fond of strategy titles, get Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis. Complex and loaded with extras, it's a first-rate adaptation of the original, but not nearly as difficult (or hard to find). In all honesty, it's the best game that I've played so far this year.
Advance Wars. yes. (notice how many times this was suggested?) it's good.
Castlevania: HOD: yes
Metroid Fusion: omg this is the bomb. Especially if you dug Metroid on the snes. I already played it (via emu) but still intend on buying it when it comes out... which is soon.
And maybe it's just me, but for classic gaming I *really* like KONAMI ARCADE CLASSICS. You can't beat playing Time Pilot or scramble on the shitter (it's actually what I've always dreamed of since I was kid ). Plus they added some optional enhancements to the games. Great package. Along that vein there's also the Namco Classics, and the Atari Classics package, but these are less well put together.. but still good if you like the games. I'd avoid the Williams Arcade Classics for GBA at all costs. it's absolutely horrible.
hey btw.. if you score a flash linker, let me know where you picked it up at so's I can hook one up to!
Actually, Williams Arcade Classics is called Midway Greatest Hits. Of the games included (Defender, Robotron 2084, Joust and Sinistar), Robotron is the only one that's playable (and purists will decry the loss of the two-joystick control). Defender's sprites are simply too small; the game makes Pac-Man seem huge on the Gameboy! Joust's and Sinistar's problems are also well documented.
Also avoid Pitfall! The Mayan Adventures, even if it's at a low, low price (I still shiver at the thought that I actually bought that game; fortunately, I got most of my money back by selling it to a videogame rental store).
oop yeah. Midways' Arcade Classics rather.. And you know what else is so tragic about that port? Is that the earlier release of Joust/Defender combo cart for the GBC is actually so much better for those particular games! Too funny :P
And what else is cool is when you play them on the GBA, the screen of course stretches out, but that makes the aspect ratio look even better.
