Default I'm so confused, what should I do with this CD-I?

I have the Magnavox model, and that's it. No games, no cords, no controller. Nothing.

I can't seem to find any replacement parts, so It looks like I may have to buy another CD-I, maybe the one that looks like a DVD player.

But are there really any good games to even bother getting? Anything that has only appeared on CD-I?

Also, should I track down a controller? Are those hard to find? I can't imagine playing many games with a remote controll, is it a pain with one?

    (sigh)
I had the chance to get a CD-i and a pile of games. To this day I wish I had taken advantage of the opportunity.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a fantastic system. It does, however, have a handful of Nintendo licensed games that WERE exclusive to the system. Yes, there are Zelda and Mario games on the CD-i. The Zelda games are nothing to shout about, though... the only thing that can be said for them is that they make Link look even fruitier than Charles Nelson Reilly on a "coming out" edition of Match Game.

You don't NEED to have a controller to play these games, but the CD-i requires, at the very least, a remote control. It's not the most comfortable way to play video games, but it hardly matters as most of the software titles for the system aren't video games in the traditional sense.

Bah, why does it always go back to that voice acting? Yeah, it was bad, even for the time, and the overenthusaistic voices are...unexcusable, but the ingame sprites aren't especially fruity. It's pretty much Zelda 2 with indecipherable backgrounds/scrolling levels (which aren't sure if they're isometric or sidescrolling, sort of reminds me of the Hugo's House of Horrors games, but bad) and pretty poor control (without a special controller, anyway).

Hotel Mario can be fun, but I quit when I got to the ice levels and Mario started sliding around. Not fun.

Hey, VACRMH. I've been looking for a loose CD-i console. I've got a remote, controller, a couple games, cords, but no system. Wanna sell or trade it?

Thanks for PMing me back. Although I don't know all of the games that are specific to it, here are some that I suggest:
    Litil Divil
    Hotel Mario
    Megamaze
Muzzy (Ok, so it's educational, but it's just SO damn funny)
    Egbert, I miss you...

I've heard that the CD-I had the best version of Alone in the Dark and The 7th Guest, also.

If you get a CD-i, DO NOT pass up a game called BURN CYCLE. For all intents and purposes, it's the CD-i's SNATCHER.

Yes, it has the best version of 7th Guest, but 7th Guest is downright unplayable by today's standards.

    STAY AWAY from Video Speedway.

Hotel Mario is pretty fun, I didnt beat it though, it just got way too hard.

The Zelda games are worth checking out if you are a hardcore Zelda fan. You won't like them much, but I did back when they came out. Zelda's Adventure (the 3rd CD-i Zelda game) is apparently okay, and more of a traditional zelda type game, though I have yet to play it)

There was a boatload of crap on that system, but a few funions as well.

Wha? Alone in the Dark? I am amazed that the CD-I was even capable of rendering such a game.
