    Default Donkey Kong isn't a donkey question...

    Why is Donkey Kong called "Donkey" Kong if he is a monkey / gorilla / ape thing???


    Someone just asked me this, and I didn't know....anyone have an answer??

    "Donkey's aren't Monkey's! Quit messing with my head!"

    It stands for "Stupid Monkey". Donkey means Stupid. Kong means Monkey.

    Actually, it's called Donkey Kong because Miyamoto wanted a word that meant stubborn and tenacious. He came up with Donkey.
