Default GSN... the network for video games?

I'm wondering what happened to the video game coverage on Game Show Network. If the network was supposed to expand its focus to cover all kinds of games after changing its name to GSN, then why did they cancel Game Sauce and Gamer TV? I liked those shows, especially Game Sauce... the British co-host gave it the kind of dignified atmosphere that X-Play and the programs on G4 could only hope to have. Heck, even the documentary on video game history wasn't bad, up until the point where Tony Hawk dropped his pants and bent over for Sony.

So my question to GSN (and its viewers) is this: hey, where's all the video game coverage?

Honestly, I think the reason why they changed their name was they were going to go for a larger and younger audience by showing more "reality" shows and fewer game shows, but they didn't want their name to sound totally inappropriate like what MTV is supposed to mean.

It's not unlike what TNN did when they got away from showing things related to country music-they became "The National Network."

Apparantly, according to a few posts on their message boards I dug up...the GSN Video Games thing was just a 13 week trial run, and it appears it was killed off, possibly before it even finished.

Extreme Dodgeball though may be worth watching

Speaking of TNN...which became Spike TV...remember that horrible video games award show? I saw an ad in a magazine which indicated they're doing it again this year.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Yeah and what's up with ad's for Video Games with quotes and reviews like:
Maxim Game of the Year or Spike TV #1 Award
Geez, the people who make these ads should realize that TRUE gamers don't give a #@$%#@%@#%@# what Spike TV or Maxum thinks about a game

Remember? How can I forget? I can't get the vision of a circle surrounded by cheerleaders cheering on the latest PlayStation 2 winner or EA game to get an award. That show was a PIECE OF SHIT. And I hope hope HOPE they don't do it again this year. That will totally make me vomit.

And the Game of the Year is... Madden 2005! What a surprise!

Well, I'm sure I saw an ad for this year's awards show...I just can't remember what magazine I saw that ad in. I didn't watch it last year...I have a violent reaction whenever I see David Spade's face...

Hey guys, remember that one of the first reviews to come out for Utopia for the Intelivision was in Playboy. They voted it game of the year and after that sales jumped up sharply. And that game is a classic, and the direct precoursor to Civ.

I watched g4techtv for a couple hours this morning (first time id seen g4 shows) and I only have one thing to say... Rossi Morreale is the worst host I have ever seen. His attitude, personality, sarcasm, and just plain meaness are enough to make me stop watching. Give me Adam Sessler ANY time over Rossi. At least Adam's funny in a silly way, Rossi tries to be funny by taking shots at people and trying to look cool.

Phew, glad I got that off my chest. :P

The Spike TV video game award was terrible. I was like "what the hell?" most of the time. By the way, like the avatar Quintracker.

Thanks! For those who don't know, it's Victoria from the WWE. She was my favorite woman wrestler til last night. It seems they've changed her whole character. She's no long the crazy psycho-bitch, now she just another good looking chick with wrestling skills. *sighs* oh well

This post is off topic but anyways, Victoria seems to be heading in the direction of her days as a Nitro girl when she was in WCW. I don't like her new music.
