Default GameFly... all that and a bag of microchips?

I'm tempted to start using this service, after seeing ads for it on TechTV. Has anyone here tried GameFly? Were you satisfied with it? How does the service work? Do you need a credit card?

Any and all information about GameFly would be deeply appreciated. I'm thinking about trying it for a month just so I can get my hands on dozens of GameCube games, especially the Space Invaders remake that was recently released. If the service sucks, though, I'll settle for renting games at a nearby video store.

I think the service is pretty good. It isn't as good as Netflix but it's solid. I live on the East Coast. They ship and receive from the west coast. Sometimes it takes a little longer then i like to get new titles because they wont ship additional titles until they receive the last stuff they sent to you. They are getting better though. The thing that I think is cool is the fact that you can rent GBA titles. I can't rent GBA titles anywhere. ALso, they have a large selection of titles. My local Blockbuster carries a majority of new titles for home consoles only. You can rent PS2 launch titles on Gamefly which is always cool. If you are still on the fence about Gamefly I think there is a 2 week free trial. They will allow you to rent 2 games. That's the basic membership which I have. Between the games I buy and rent I don't have time for much more anyway. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions PM me!

I've been signed up to it for 7 months. Great service. It's just like netflix... get mailer, play game, send mail back, no postage to be paid. I think they only take CCs.

If you just want to play the games, it's great.

Any new opinions of this service?

I just signed up this morning. I quit renting games a long time because I only have two choices (Hastings and Blockbuster) and they never had what I wanted in stock and I thought their prices were too high. I've been doing Netflix for a long time and I like the system in general, so I thought I would give Gamefly a try as well.

I tried it for a month and did not like it. Sure, getting 2 games at a time is nice, but not when there are 8 days of shipping in between the two (I only got to try 4 games for 2-3 days apiece!).
    Egbert, I miss you...

I've heard it's a good service, with a large selection of games, good prices, and good customer service. The MAIN problem is that everything comes out of their main office in CA. Therefore, the further east that you live, the longer it takes between mailings. I've heard in my area (Rhode Island) it can take about 7-10 days between mailing a game to them and getting another one back. If the service expands and offers a center on the east coast, that should get better.

It's great, gives me a chance of trying out the latest games.

Is it true they ship from the West? I'm in Cali and Pokemon Pinball was shipped out on the 18th but I haven't received it yet.
And don't bring up that stupid girlie Aladdin rip off! Shantea?

Since I posted back in May I cancelled my Gamefly subscription. They took too damn long to get games to me. If they were as good as Netflix I would come back. But for now, FUCK GAMEFLY!!!! Yeah!
