Walmart.. No.
First the moral reasons.
Second, I don't get a 10% discount at Walmart.
So I'll wait until next week when we get them in.
What moral reasons?Originally Posted by Jasoco
Actually though I never buy anything at Wal-Mart unless I find it on sale, I actually hate that store and never go there unless I absolutely have too.
I am not saying that isn't true, that they aren't released yet, but the OFFICIAL date for them all to be released is June 7. I personally don't think there out yet, mostly in part because the babbages I reserve my games at ALWAYS gets my stuff in at least 2 days before most stores and they don't have it in yet.Originally Posted by norkusa

Aw man, that would be the shit if nintendo released the zelda in a GOLD cartridge. I would probably buy like 2-3 of them!!!!Originally Posted by gamegirl79
Yeah, the Zelda box art needs the most work. i don't get that. But, in my opionion of course, I really don't think that the famicon version boxes are that much better. Of course they are better, but just not that much too me.Originally Posted by TheRedEye
Hey guys, just got word from my coworker that EB will be getting their shipments in Thursday and Friday, ahead of schedule. Yay!
And I agree on the box art....was it that hard to make them as close to the original as possible? I woudl have killed to have seen the GBA box have the window with a gold Zelda peeking out, like the NES original release.

I think they made the Zelda box black to match the rest, but I think it sucks. Though, a gold cart would totally make up for it.
I wonder what the color of the carts will actually be. Anyone buy one yet at Wally-World like someone mentioned?
I know as soon as I buy my first cart, I will be doing a comparison on my site. With the Japanese SMB and the US SMB.
I'm sure someone will explain it to ya.Originally Posted by NintendoMan

OH, I didn't even think about having the little window with a part of the zelda cartridge peeking out. It just makes me drool thinking about it!
Please do explain! I need to know!Originally Posted by Jasoco
I know the OFFICIAL date was June 7th, but the guy told me something about how Nintendo decided to bump the date up. I didn't believe him at first, but then he checked the computer and it said that they've already been shipped out from the main warehouse or whatever, so my pre-order should be in a couple days. I almost went across the street to check if they were in at Wal-Mart, but like Jasoco, moral reasons prevent me from doing so.Originally Posted by NintendoMan

They were made available to the lucky Japanese people with the empty wallets who bought the entire set of 10 games so they had something to display them in. See, Japan sells them to collectors, NOA is selling them to gamers. But it's the collectors who actually want them. And we want them done right! I want cool packaging too!!
you beat me to the post lol today at wal-mart here in sacramento california i went there with my daughter at approx 4 pm today june 2 2004 and saw the classic games there already the titles are excitebike, zelda, xevious, ice climber, donkey kong thats only the ones i remember seeing and they're $19.82 each I already reserved one nes style gba sp so will pick it up when it comes out
On top of that, you could only get it through the Mario Club in Japan (the Japanese equivalent of the Stars catalog in Europe) once you'd registered all ten games with the site. I'll take a pick of the sleeve for it, it's got pixelated characters on it from all 10 games in that first set. Very cool. Very limited. I wonder if they will do a similar thing for the second set that's just come out.Originally Posted by Jasoco
To the people who now have them. Well? What do they look like?
What color are the carts? Please don't say they're normal color, (Dark greyish/black) that would be another nail in the head. They should at least be distinct. The Famicom ons are the distinct Red/White-cream color the Famicom was. The NES games should either be the Cart grey, or two shades of grey like the NES was. Please, Nintendo, don't let me down.
[Crosses fingers. Hopes someone hasn't bought them to keep them sealed.]
I hadn't thought of cartridge grey for the other games, I was too busy praying that Zelda would be gold.Originally Posted by Jasoco
