Default My first pawn shop find ever.

I've been actively collecting video games for over 4 years, and casually collecting for many more. I've bought games from flea markets, thrift stores, yard sales, church rummage sales, all kinds of retail stores, online auction sites and online retail sites. I've traded, bought and sold games with many a fellow collector. I've had people give me games for free and I've even found vg stuff in the trash. The one place I'd never found anything was at a pawn shop. I've been to several and they've either had no games, only modern games, only sports games or they were all overprices but for whatever reason I didn't buy any. Until last Saturday!

    Playstation - Castlevania: SotN (non-GH version) $4

    Yay me.

Nice, I always find something good in pawn shops. Maybe not every time i'm there but alot of my good finds come from there.

I still need to get SOTN

That's probably because MA barely HAS pawn shops.

Well, Oklahoma DOES have Pawn Shops. In the area I live in, there is probably at least one on every block. In a 4 mile x 10 mile area, there are probably ... 30, at least. Still, classic videogaming finds are hard to come by. I once saw a Genesis 2 with about 10 unboxed games for $25, but for the most part all I see now are Dreamcast and newer systems and games.

There are at least two that I know of that have some older stuff. One has a bunch of N64 stuff, like an arcadey kind of stick for the N64 and some other stuff which has been there forever. There's another that always has GB/GBC carts. The one by my house always has a large selection of GC/XBOX/PS2 games for $12 each, and then N64 for $8 and SNES for $5.

Nice finds. I never find stuff in pawn shops either.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

Great find...odd though cause my pawn shops have tons of stuff!

I, by some odd chance, was lookin through the PS1 games at one of mine and came across a SOTN also...they told me 5.00 and I looked around for about 5 more mins then took it to the counter and they only charged me 1.00. Don't know why, but hell, I ain't complainin!

The town I live has three pawn shops. One of them I rarely go to, mainly because the majority of the stuff they sell are guns, and they only have PS1 games. The second one has NES/SNES/Genesis etc. stuff, which I used to go to often, but they never get anything new in, so I've stopped looking there for now. The third one (my favorite one) has all the major consoles and games for sale, a changing inventory, and things I've found no where else; like NES games with boxes, and loose Saturn games (now I wish I had a Saturn).

Hey, welcome back! Actually Brockton and Fall River have quite a few. Those are my main hunting grounds. Though now that the Globe Flea is closed I probably won't be going to Fall River much.

It's good to see that our main hunting grounds differ so much.

Which ones do you go to in brockton? I only know of 3 and one of them i have never been to because its in the downtown area and has horrible parking. The other two are pretty good though.

This one pawn shop near me has a HUMONGOUS display case full of SNES/NES/GEN games but they are priced pretty fucking high. Megaman 3 = 20$. Although, everything is 20% off. Other than that, I rarely find much stuff in pawn shops, most of them are this shitty little ez cash money pawn fuckheads and they only carry stupid sports dreamcast/psx games.

But of course, I did find a stadium events in one small little pawn shop so ya never know what's out there....

I never have much luck in Pawn shops but last time we went my boyfriend spoted a Dreamcast keyboard for $6, his little brother was looking for one so he could play typing of the dead. Anyway we ran into his mother later that day and told her about the keyboard.

Couple days later we hear she bought it but she had to argue with the cashier to do so. Apparently the guy told her she couldn't buy it because it was worth $50 on ebay. So apparently she told his that "The tag said $6 and she wasn't leaving until he sold it to her" I dunno, his mom can be sort of scary at times, but she held her ground and finally got the keyboard.

I've never found a single thing at a pawn shop, probably because I've never been to one! I don't even know we have any in my area!

    Right.......
Actually, he DID find it - I remember his post with a picture of him holding the game. One hell of a deal.
